Thanks,
Brett

I guess fairly recent...the last pair I got was within the past 3 or 4 months. They're out in California, and my co-worker still has them since I haven't been out there, and I don't wanna pay for shipping. A friend here in Phoenix is going out to LA this weekend and he's going to bring them home to papa.....:D

What kind of a deal are you looking for on the CS350SL?
I might know where one is available in pristine condition...would have to be shipped though but I imagine it wouldn't be more than $20 or so. I see you own one already...they are very friggin' nice center channels!

I was going to get the money to the guy and someone bought it out from under me after the guy promised it to me....some way to do biz. Oh well...that is why im looking agian. Let me know what you find out.

    Thanks,

    Brett,
Im not sure to tell you the truth. I really havent seen enough of them out there used to know what the market is. I can tell you that my 20p's were under 600.00 for the pair brand spankin new from an authorized dealer. I guess if something sounded fair I would have to consider it at that time...it would also have to depend on what I might find 12s or 20s for and weigh the cost/benifit.

Of the 16's that I've picked up over the past year, I haven't shipped any of them. I did however buy a pair of the RT12's and had them shipped from CA to AZ, and weighing in at about 45pounds packed, they ran something like $20 a piece. It wasn't too unreasonable.

The 16's though are beasts, and if you end up not finding a pair that's relatively close to you, I would think that it could get pretty costly in shipping fees.

Have you ever heard the 16's?

I must admit ive never heard them...but since the tweets are the same as my other speaks I figured they would be a decent timbre match for my 20s. I am looking for them to perform rear surround duties and I will move my LS/fx to front/side effects speaks.

Oh yeah...Shipping must have risen dramatically since I bought my stuff. I had my 20s, 350, and LS/fxs all shipped from NJ to FL for 70 bucks. I know I have checked recently and it seems 20s can be shipped for about 80 or 90 from a decent distance.

I haven't ever heard the 20p's, but as good as the 16's sound, I think that they'd be somewhat wasted as surrounds.......They are INCREDIBLE mains!!!!! Good luck on your hunt.....

Just curious...what are you gonna be doing with the second center channel? And, if you are looking for surrounds that match have you considered the 'LS' series which also have the trilaminate tweeter?

    Dragon,
The 2cd center will be the rear center as my reciever is 7.1. As far as the LS series I would be intrigued by them...but I have never heard them...actually until recently I didnt know they were out there. I just figured the RTs would timbre match right on the nose. Have you had experience with the LS series RT series timbre matching?

if you can't find a 350, you could look for a 400. The 400 doesn't have as nice of a form factor, but outperforms the 350. I've got both and now use my 350 for secondary HT duties.

    Wall,
Doest the 400 have a completely different driver set up...in other words not going to timbre match?

The 400 has the trilam tweeter. I'm running LS-90's and fx1000's and they blend perfectly. The 400 and 350 sound very similar. The 400 goes a little lower and has a little more depth to the sound. Both are good speakers though.

    brett,

what are you powering your 16's with? I also have the 16's and cs350ls.

I'm currently powering my rt's with an adcom 5800.. Goes much deeper with teh 5800, but seems it dosn't punch as much as lower powered amps..

fast....it's actually mine. I've been seriously contemplating selling it along with my LS-50's but can't freakin' decide what I want to do. I'd really like to concentrate on my 2-channel setup since I listen to it 95% of the time anyway and I've been spending way too much money and would like to get some back. I'm currently using the LS-50's as rears with my Klipsch KG5.2's as fronts which I like better for 2-channel.

I was powering my 16's with an Onkyo Pro Logic receiver for about 5 years, and I wasn't EVER disappointed with the sound, or the punch that they produced. I did finally upgrade to DD and I'm now running them with a B&K AVR307. I have a bit of playing around to do with that though because when in 2 channel mode, the depth and punch that I had with the Onkyo isn't quite as intense. We'll see, but I wouldn't have 3 pair if I didn't totally love the things. IMO, one of the best speakers that Polk's made. Half the time I don't even turn on the sub because they can do bass just fine. Not to sub levels, but they aren't light on it either......

Well if I do decide to sell....and sorry for the hesitation...this is like a spur of the moment thought here....I would think the same deal pretty much ....$200 shipped per item = $600 shipped all three would be a pretty good deal all around.

BTW....I am the original owner and have original sales receipt ...$1200 for all three around 1994....very low use all three as I went about 4 yrs without listening at all.
