Use Windex. Spray the rag and gently wipe the surrounds. That's all that should be done to them. Don't use anything to "lube " them such as Armor All. etc. as it will ruin them. Keep the covers on them.>

Why would armor all do damage? It's supposed to be made to protect rubber, vinyl, plastic, etc from sun damage and keep it pliable.
The surrounds are made of butyl rubber so it seems like it would help keep them new.

I have 30+ years old drivers that have never been touched and are as good as the day they were born. Treatments will ruin the elasticity of the rubber.>

The reason you Windex is good is that is leaves NO residue. If you use Armor or most any other 'protectant', it will leave a residue. The residue WILL attract dust, lint, etc. Just like Polkersince85, I have a pair of SRS that are 30+ and the surrounds are perfect - sturdy and seem to me to be as flexable as new.SDA SRS modded: Xovrd, de-polyed, inductorized, interconnectorized, re-posted, dynamited, RDOd, spiked, gasketed, ringed (Larry's), and grill cloth blinged! Done this on my own? Not a chance. Thanks to Raife and all who forged easy to follow upgrades. At least a 100% improvement in sound and my personal listening pleasure! :cheesygrin:Pass XP-10 preamp, Parasound A21 amp, Pioneer Elite DV-58AV (Ric Shultz modded), Audioquest Sky IC's, No longer need my Sunfire sub after mods...

Armor All is the devil. It actually degrades rubber and plastics.Political Correctness'.........defined

I use this method with a lintless cloth and it works great. I never have the covers on mine though...Pio Elete Pro 520
