Made some DIY Stands...

With some scrap steel from work and the help of a friend, these stands turned out pretty sweet.
26" tall with spikes, all steel construction and the steel column will be filled with sand. Still need to add some little rubber pads for the speakers to rest on at the top plate.
Talk about heavy! They will hold up my new LSi9's in the man cave...

Very nice, did you weld those yourself? As for the sand, are we talking course or fine sandHT:

Pic's as requested...
These were actually not welded Zaigrith, but attached together with hardware. No sand yet, and actually I'm thinking of something different than sand. -
Very nice, how heavy are they?
I recently built a 26" pair using 3" PVC tubes. When fully filled with sand they weigh 18 lbs each. Fit and finish are seriously lacking but they get the job done. But if I had to do it over again I'd go with 4" tubes for more mass-loading capability and a larger top shelf that can accommodate the entire length and width of the bookshelf. -
I'd say they weight about 35 LBS each now, but when I add some shot or something similar maybe around the 60 - 70 LB range.

wow i need to build me a pair of those!
