Should I upgrade my receiver?

Hello...

When I finished off my basement, I wired and installed Polk in wall and in ceiling speakers, thinking that I will update my front speakers to Polk in the future. As for my receiver, I updated to a refurbished H/K AVR-254 right after I finished the basement to take advantage of HDMI and the 7.1 setup.

Now I updated my front speakers to RTi8s and a CSi A6, and I have noticed a significant improvement.

Now my dilemma is should I update my receiver? Would I notice a significant improvement over my current setup and will I be able to take further advantage of my the current speakers?

I am considering receivers around the likes of a Pioneer VSX-1120-K, thanks

chris

If you are happy with the video processing of your H/K you might get more benefit from a separate amp...........assuming your H/K has pre outs. I have the Pioneer 1120 and it's no slouch but I decided to get a 5 channel amp that will handle my B&W 801s that are 4ohm and the 1120 is only rated for 8 and 6 ohm speakers.

As that is a very nice upgrade to a nice receiver , also check out the Pioneer ELite line and see if there is any benefits that you would like. The Elite line is Pioneer's high end and all I would want to install , sell or be apart of. I have found the Elite receivers to really bring out the best in the Polk rt line. I find it is the resting place. The standard if you will.
