To be fair, I didn't read all the posts, this one stands out because it's so true, I can listen to my Martin Logans that way, they don't sound their best that way but, dam nice up close, very intimate, I'll get reamed for this from 'stat fans but, I love that wrap around you sound up close, I have to place the studio chair (the one that has a level jack) just so, depending on what part of the spectrum I want to focus on.

I know, just geta good 2-way on stands.....I have both, it's all fun ,

My AKG K601's bring it on but, it's not the same experience.
