I have this receiver and think it is great. The tuner is amazing. I live in a dead zone, but it pulls in stations. Very clean, solid sound....good luck....

Man all kinds of memories with that receiver. I heard my first Totem speakers on a Rotel receiver and was amazed on what I heard.

I must resist , I would like/love to own that . Good luck with the sale man.

It would be an awesome piece for me but if i bought this and his amp instead of a snowblower, the lady will murder me.

But you are local! I'd be more than willing to help you figure something out, without shipping costs and with a package deal perhaps you can make it happen?

Given the weather as of late though a snowblower isn't such a bad idea, i'd craigslist one if I needed it

I know i'm local! I've been trying to buy something/anything off of you for months now!!
But due to the home remodel and flippin snowblowers, it makes things difficult.

I do have a snow blower that runs but only idle, when thrown in drive and with augers running it craps out. I will try and tune it up over the weekend and if....thats a BIG IF, I can get it running, you are on top of my list!

Then i can downsize the surround and transplant the a5's into a starter 2 channel. (yes they are a little bright but not as bad you all say!)

    DEAL!

I'd do $750 for the pair for you and deliver them to you, weather permitting.

That said, it might be a lot cheaper to get your snowblower repaired than to buy another one. I'm not really a mechanic but it sounds like the motor isn't getting enough fuel or air?

Got me a can of carb cleaner this morning to start my endevour. If its anything like build a computer, we'll be all set....

Do you think the receiver alone would be enough for the A5's? I understand that power isn't everything but i would assume that a dedicated rotel stereo receiver's power is better than onkyo 807's power. Just being naive.

You're welcome to just get one of the two and can always pick up the amp later. This is a dedicated stereo receiver built at a time when most receivers are focused on home theater; rather than worrying about multiple channels of amplification and DAC / DSP duties, it is much more consolidated. Closer to separates, essentially.

I used it with the amp but I would assume it to sound better than the Onkyo on it's own strength alone. A lot of other members seem to have owned one as well so their impressions might help - I have never owned Polk speakers (GASP!) so I can't comment on the pairing as well.

I am always hesitant about hooking up 4 ohm speakers to ANY receiver, though this has a well built stereo section. It's not that receivers can't do 4 ohm, but I feel "difficult" speakers just won't get what they need out of most receivers out there. I'd recommend using it as a preamp / tuner and the likes while taking advantage of the preouts with an amplifier, like the matching one I am selling, to drive your Maggie's.
