The last 2 weekends were in favor of the bookies 3out of 4 last weekend were upsets 2of 4 this weekend but I am sure the biggest pool was the NY/NE upset

Don't most people who gamble usually try to bet the 'underdog' and take points? If so, wouldn't most have loaded up bets on the Jets for the win by 3-7 points?

Just curious. I don't know much about this, admittedly.

Chicago has a way to go to match this crew. The first record I played on my new M10s back in the day.

Not really, have a bookie friend here, and another buddy of mind use to work in the sports book in Vegas. Playoff games usually favor the favorites even with the points. I personally stay away from sports bets other than a couple of superbowl pot to keep me interested in the game when my teams suck.

The way it is laid out now would like to see Packers and the Steelers go the distance

The House (in this case teh bookie) doesn't gamble, the house just wins. The point of making a gambling line is to try to get even bets on either side, or at lesat reasonably close to it. That way, with the vig, the house MAKES MONEY NO MATTER WHO WINS. If the house were to only make money if ONE side won, then they'd just be another gambler, with pretty high stakes.

So if everyone was betting the Jets -3 before the game yesterday, the line would have gone to Jets -2, or Jets -1, to even out the betting.
If you will it, dude, it is no dream.

^... and "the vig" (or vigorish) is 10% of the bet... it's the "fee" the bookie gets win or lose. So after a 2-0 Saturday my 0-2 Sunday means I'm out 10%... Matter of fact Rocco just drove off with my SRS's and a couple Carver amps (fortunately he doesn't read CP or he'd know how worthless those amps are... ).

Congrats to the Steelers, Pack, da Bears and ... ugh... the J-E-T-S.... Jets Jets Jets...

Neither the Pats nor the Hawks had enough D (or put up enough points) to expose their opponents' offensive weaknesses. And both the Bears and Jets defensively stiffled their opponents... The Jets secondary deserve game balls for a stellar performance (nearly rivaling that of the Browns in week 9...).

Both games should be worth watching... definitely thinking Steelers - Pack SuperBowl... but the Jets are scarry...

    Early lines:
    Steelers -3 vs. Jets
    Packers - 3 at Bears
    More later,

Huh....Jets over Pats - that was a bit of a surprise to me. Pats offense was flat. Maybe there is something to be a top seed with idle time between the first playoff game.

Jets vs Steelers - I've got a feeling that the Steelers will be much more physical. There's gonna be some violence in the trenches fer sure. As much as I'd like to see the Jets go to the Superbowl, I think the Steelers will run right at the Jets defense with some good old fashioned smash-mouth up the gut offense that will later set up the deep ball. Steelers by 11.

Packers vs Bears - too close in my book to call. OT maybe?

The Packers / Bears will come down to the wire, as it usually does. I imagine a ticket for that game will be pretty pricey, considering the history of the 2 franchises.

I'm happy the Pats got bounced. Of all the teams, that's the one I was worried about. Credit to their coaching staff, really.

Huge win for my Packers. Rodgers looked completely focused and he was playing with a huge chip on his shoulder. I hope he and the team stays grounded from all of the hype they got after the Atlanta win.

I've said it over and over, Jay Cutler is no damn good and will be your downfall. He doesn't beat teams, they beat themselves. Packers have a better defense and an infinitely more potent offense. Barring any mental retardation on special teams or with turnovers, the Packers will roll next weekend in a blowout.

God help the fan base of the team that loses that game. Bears fans are insufferable when they have no business running their mouths. I don't even want to think about what would happen if the Pack shat the bed on Soldier Field this weekend.

Truly a game for the ages.

Hey I thought the Patriots had it in the bag. So who knows?

Packers are going to roll over the Bears next week, no question in my mind.

They finally got the possibility of a running game with the emergence of Starks, Rodgers is having an all-star post season...and they have "KOON".

I see the Steelers beating the Jets though.

I think everyone in the universe is picking Green Bay. The way things have gone this season, that means the Bears will probably take it.

I don't really root for either team, but wanna see the Bears take it because they're the underdog

Yes they're the underdog, but is the number 2 seed team with a better record than the Pack. Gotta love football.

I'm thinking the Bears are kept below 20 points, probably closer to 13.
