Hey, new guy on the block - just a question - when I bought my Sony STRDG 920 AVR a few years back I was looking for a starter system for both Theater and Music. Since I've upgraded with an array of Polk monitor speakers and PSW125 - I'm thinking the Sony 920 can't drive the new speakers to the best of their capabilities - My sound is okay, just not over the the top. I've been looking at some Elite series Pioneer AVR's - anyone have any advice or thoughts?

Thanks - I had auditioned a pioneer VSX 32 with Polk TSI's and a PSW10 last week. Sounded good at the audition room acoustics. Probably going this direction as soon as Mama's on the same page.

I wouldnt pair the PSW10 with that setup, it's subpar at best. Get a PSW505 off newegg for 199 and be happy with the bass. I see you already have a PSW125, which is much better than the PSW10.

The VSX32 (aka 1120) is a very good receiver. I just set up an 1120 the other night and it was pretty neat. The sound was very good.

To nguyendot - I'm going to keep the speakers and upgrade the receiver to Pioneer - the auditioned Pioneer had the PSW10 hooked to it. I love the PSW 125.

Well the VSX-32 will also come with pre-outs. If you ever want to upgrade in the future it will allow you to do so as well.
Retire the Sony or Craigslist it.

+1, lose the SONY. Only Sony ES Receivers are worth looking at and now, only the higher end of that line, as the entry models have lost their weight and power?

Pioneer a great choice in that price range!

If you can't sell the Sony, Karma it..sure someone could use an amp for their garage?

Looks as if he's posting in the testing area which does not affect post count.
