I have a keg at home with beer from the local brewery, so I'm good for 1-3 pints after work. After working on computers all day, it's nice to slow the brain down a bit. As far as the weekends, I fill my 40 oz mega mug from the tap and only have 'a couple'.

I'll have a few Boulevard Unfiltered Wheat beers at our neighborhood Friday night cookouts/grillouts... it's the closest I've seen in the States to the Weizen brews I've swilled in Germany. Good stuff Maynard!

    Cheers and Beers!

The last couple weeks, 2-3 pints of Boddingtons per day at the pub in the hotel.....

The previous 5.5 months previous to that, 3 piss warm Fosters 3xper week was authorized however my work schedule only permitted me to hit that about once every 2-3 weeks. Of course every once in a while we would get a shipment for medicinal purposes.

At home, generally, on the weekends I'll have a few if we go out to eat or have dinner with friends. If we have a party, a keg for the kegerator. During the week, I usually don't drink, maybe one or two in the mancave listening to my rig.

On alcolohol .. alcologloal... on drinking... FINALLY made it to HBomb's house Friday evening last. Absolutely wonderful hospitality, company, conversation, food, tunes, movies... he even had not ONLY Southern Comfort waiting, but the 100 proof stuff. We talked, ate, laughed, listened. His wife is as nice as Henry, and better looking! And their daughter was a delight.

Really first-rate experience, and one that meant something special to me because I'd taken myself out of life over the past 8 years. I haven't told Henry yet, but I've plans on us becoming great friends. Didn't realize it until that very day, but H works in the town where I live.. I knew he lived close, but thought his job was about 30 miles away.

We'll repeat the evening at my house in a few weeks. My wife is leaving for Alaska this Thursday and I'll have both my kids for 8 days... but after that....

And of course, it was great to see and listen to H's system. Finally saw and heard an SVS sub (two, actually), saw and heard a system that was worth more than the car I drove to his house, and had a very interesting listening experience to what different DACs can do .. or not do.. for your system. And geez... that TV!
He'll get to hear my more modest system, including my Stryke sonotube sub and my FrankenPolk 8T center. It will be interesting to compare.. H's system is BIG and in a big room.... my system is situated in a much more intimate setting.

Can't really describe what this meant to me.. that is a different and longer story... but suffice to say that I could not have asked for a better man or a better evening to realize how much I've missed over the past LONG time by taking myself out of life. Over the past month, I've faced the man I am before me and before God and I've got myself on a different and better path in life. Literally.... saved my marriage. And fortunately for me, Henry is a part of that better path.

    Salute!

(On second thought.. I think *MY* system is also worth more than the car I drove to his house!)

Its very rare to hit it off the way we did and I new before you told me we'll be together for a very long time. "You are a Class A person Mark!" and one of the most intelligent people I have had the fortune to meet. In this life I hold 1 thing certain, one can never have enough friends and you are at the top of my list. Thank you very much for your kind words and when we get our children together it will make our fun that much more exciting.

BTW, Don't kid yourself about your old Ford... That is a really cool car. I always wanted a diamond in the ruff and with a little TLC it could become a real show piece.

If you read this today we are stopping down at Bones across the alley from the Parking Lot for a couple going away drinks for a great Engineer I have had the pleasure to work with. You are more than welcome to stop and join us for a few if time permits.

August 10th will be the 730th day in a row without taking a drink of alcohol or taking any mind altering substance. My rig sure is getting more attention, I can actually listen to it.

First, congrats to those who responded with how long it'd been since they've had a drink.

Beer is my drink of choice and I prefer quality to quantity. I sometimes, but rarely, have one during the week. Ususally 2-4 on Fri. and Sat. I live in Wisconsin, known for beer, but I have to admit that some of my favorite beers are Californian. Sierra Nevada "Bigfoot Barleywine" is my all time fav. When I can't get that (it's seasonal) I buy "Indica IPA" from the Eureka Brewing Co. While on vacation in San Diego recently I had some local beer called "Arrogant **** Ale". That stuff was great, but I can't find it around here.

As far as local brews I like beer from a small brewery in New Glarus, WI.

All this is what I drink when I don't have my own cellar stocked with tasty handcrafted ale of my own.

    Anyone else out there homebrew?
