PSW303 Humming and Crackling

Hi-- my first post here. Thanks in advance for the help.
I have a PSW303 that is just about three years old. The sub has developed a humming and crackling problem. The humming and crackling occurs even when there is no input connected to the sub.
I disconnected the inputs, moved the sub to another AC plug and tried it there. The humming and crackling occurred at that plug as well. The humming and crackling occurred whether the sub was on, off or "auto on"
Without any inputs connected, I adjusted volume knob, adjusted the low pass knob, and the phase switch. None of those made any difference in the noise. Moving around the power cord didn't do anything either. The same constant humming, the same intermittent crackling.
However, when switched the power switch from "auto-on" to "off" it sometimes made a louder than normal crackle. Not all the time, but some of the time.
Any idea what the problem might be? And more importantly, what the solution might be?
I am not opposed to pulling out a multi-meter and solder gun to try and fix thing, but I really don't know where to start.
Thanks
Jared

Sounds like a bad power supply. Either way the amp is probably shot. Give customer service a call and see what they can do for you.Main Surround -
