I've seen some nice watches posted here as of late, so I was curious what kind of watch most of you wear on a daily basis, and if you have a nicer "time piece" for your suit/ weekends?

My baby is a Breitling SuperOcean that I bought about 3 years ago. I've always been fascinated with Breitling b/c of their aeronautical ties/themes, so it's funny I ended up with one of their diving watches

I loved the look and size of it, and the face wasn't too busy or anything. It's supposedly good to 5000ft/ 1500M, but I'll never find out if that's true or not.

I like it b/c I can wear it with jeans and a t-shirt, or with a nice suit and it looks great either way.

So what are you guys sporting these days? What's your favorite watch and why?

I wear chronograph dive watches for work, usually Seiko's. Almost all the dive watches, even the cheaper models will have mineral crystals which means they won't scratch. For the occasional time I dress up I wear Citizen Eco drive - Blue Angels model.

Reason for that watch is the atomic time keeping and never needing a battery. I have always preferred bracelets to strap watches and the titanium bracelet helps with an already heavy watch.

I have a bunch of watches that are sitting in a case that have occasional use. I generally wear a watch for functionality, not jewelry. The exception of course when I have to dress for an occasion.

That Blue Angels watch is nice! And I hear you on the bracelet; that's all I'll wear as well.

Nice piece there Rick; that copper tone on the numbers and hands looks very neat. And I like the all seasons look of a solid stainless finish.

Daily wear is my Omega Seamaster Professional - 007 style. Got it because of Goldeneye.

It's getting its workout. My suit watch depends - if it's black black I wear my fossil blacked out watch. If it's not, I wear my Movado Esperanza (it's jewelery so I never wear it).

If I'm going to go play hockey, theres the Casio G-shock.

My other daily is my Citizen eco-drive chronograph. It replaced my sector SGE650 (the first to go to north pole and back without breaking).

All still work, they're just sitting in a nice watch box my girlfriend got me a few years ago.

I am incredibly jealous! I love nice watches, and a few years ago I came across an ad for the Citizen Ecodrive Blue Angels Skyhawk watch. Instantly fell in love. Had to get it. Never did, though.

I also hate strap watches, so mine have the bracelet.

After my titanium swiss army watch died, I replaced it with a Casio MT-G. Looks pretty nice, is really tough, atomic time-keeping, etc. Great customer service with the warranty, too. I'm really tough on this thing and totally fubar'd the bracelet and clasp. I sent it off to them under warranty with a little note, and they shipped it back to me 2 weeks later to the day with a new bracelet.

    MTG-910D-2VER.jpg

I've had a Seiko for a few years now that does look really nice, I just haven't worn it in forever. The little pegs that keep the bracelet attached to the casing are just so weak on this one, they bend and the bracelet comes detached whenever I bump into anything. :(

Everyday I wear a Casio G-Shock because I move my hands a lot when talking. And the only upscale watch I own is an IMITATION (knock-off) of a classic Rolex Divers watch. You know the one...old Bond films, black face, black bezel, all stainless steel and rated to 200 M. Less than 110 U.S., new.

1500 M, WOW. I've never heard of any watch having that kind of rating. And can anyone dive to such depths without being in some 21st century pressurized suit. Or is it even POSSIBLE for humans?

For everyday, I cycle through about 20 some watches depending on what I'm wearing. They consist of mostly Nixon (rotolog, 5150, player, etc.), but there is a Nooka, Tokyo Flash, Cloud9, noon No.46, G-Shock BAPE, and my classic standard Timex TX 600 Pilot Fly-Back all black with gold bezel. Oh and I have a couple Suunto sports watches (snowboarding, diving), and one All black Bulova my wife got me when I graduated college a while back. None of my watches are crazy expensive, and one of my friends was sponsored by Nixon, so I got a lot of "gifts."

    On the list:
    -Mondaine EVO Automatic
    -Vestal ZR3
    -Furtis IQ

The ratings are done in a pressurzed chamber and reflect its air/water tightness. It is probably theoretically possible for a person go 1500m without some type of pressurized suit, but they'd have to hold their breath the whole way. And, at at the speed you'd need to descend and ascend you'd definitely need a good accurate timepiece! lol

I'd expect the bends to be an issue as well...don't want to come up too fast!

There's a nitrogen release valve on the side of it to take care of the pressure. My ears won't let me dive so I'll never know

Nguyen: My first "nice watch" was a Sector! I still have it tucked away in a cigar box somewhere.

ACM: I've got a buddy with a couple Panerais; NICE time piece there. Very very impressive look and feel, and they aren't afraid to do something different (I think one of his has an orange band or something crazy like that.)

I'm jealous of you folks with multiple watches. I'd like to eventually have a 7 day set with a winding box to keep them all in, but I could barely afford this one when I bought it ($1,950 out the door I think it was.) Hah, my GF at the time about FLIPPED when she saw the receipt, so I took her back, pointed at a Submariner and let her know it could always be worse...

And besides, I bet some of you have more invested in cables than I do this watch

    Here are my time keepers.

The one on the far left works perfectly, however is in need of a battery. My significant other (now wife) gave this one to me as a gift in the 80's. I still use it on diving trips today. The second one is one I have owned since the early 90's and it still works well. I do not like it or wear it that much. The next one (Rolex) is the second oldest of the pack. My significant other (now wife) gave this one to me as a gift as well in the 80's. The one to the far right is four days old (Christmas present from our daughter).

Of all four watches, the Casio to the far left is the most treasured one of all, then the four day old one from my daughter. For some strange reason, I cannot mentally part with the one on the far left. It drives my wife crazy that I will not get rid of it; it has a special meaning to me and I have paid quite a bit of money over the years to keep it going. Diminishing returns at in effect. Call me crazy:redface:

I own a number of watches. Daily one is a Citizen quartz.
I have three Citizen Eco drives that look pretty, but I prefer the standard
one. I have a Seiko quartz that was my father's watch.
The only one I really want is the pocket watch that was my great grandfather's.
It currently is hanging up in a glass display case at my mother's home.
The last two are the cheapest ones, yet the most valuable.

I am an avid scuba diver and used it exclusively for over a couple of hundred dives (that I have logged). It has never failed to keep accurate time and has not rusted in any form due to the saltwater diving over they years. It's funny that the battery finally died after seven years.

I do like the new Casio MT-G-900 that my daughter gave to me on Christmas. I'm sure that my wife is trying some kind of psychology to get me to get rid of the first Casio.
Since I am a sucker for my six year old, she (wife) may have succeeded.

I wear a fossil as an everyday work watch.

My favorite watches are skeleton watches. Invicta being the brand that I love the most. I also own some bulova's and one movado. But Invicta is the best. It is something about the self wind skeleton watches and watching the mechanisms inside work that I just love.

Thats why I was saying you'd have to hold your breath. For one, you don't have to worry about air mixtures. And, two, you don't build up residual Nitrogen if you're not breathing. You can come up as fast as you want if its on the same breath you went down with

I had a STORM watch I wore everyday for almost 10 years, put it through all hell and back and the thing worked great(I believe it had the always reliable Japanese Citizen Miyota quartz movement which required a battery every 2 or 3 years). The watch would probably still be working had a jeweler not broken the special crystal lense it had when he replaced the battery and was sealing it. He put a crystal in it for free, but it wasn't a STORM crystal(bad seal) and the watch started collecting moisture and jacked it up. RDB, the Invictas' look like nice watches, I remember Tim Temple used to sell them and of course everyone remembers "THE WATCH COMMANDER" Danny Blair right? Tim Temple is well known among watch afficionados and collectors of timepieces. Both him and the W.C. have many, many years experience selling watches on various cable channels the past 25 years.

My daily is a Casio, wear cause I don't wanna get things screwed up. I've been a fan of Invicta watches, since they come in cool colors like orange, blue, green, matches the Polos and Nikes. I have a watch from Benny & Co. I bought like 3 yrs ago, mint 6kt diamonds on the bezel and face(price was 6k). Bought it cause I wanted some bling and celebrating the making of the big bucks. Only worn it 3 times, just a tad over the top for me. I'm now in the market for a Breitling or Omega myself. Bought an ESQ the other day on sale for 600.00

I wear a Tag Heuer Formula daily and use the Hugo Boss for special occasions. Got a great price on his & hers matching Hugo Boss watches the last time I was at Hugo Boss, couldn't pass on them. It is definitely not a classic time piece by any standard, but for me I like that it is very simple and clean looking and finsihes the look. As for the TAG, way back when TAG was the offical time keeper for Formula 1 racing I always said to my Dad I would own one when I grew up. We use to watch the F1 races in the 70's and 80's, I am still an avid fan. Anyway I guess about 3 years ago I grew up, cause I went out and bought one.

A Nixon watch called "The DON"

"No other watch is closer to the truth" is written by the factory on the back plate.

Got this at a yard sale and had to put a battery in it. That was three years ago or more.

Then I have older Seiko's with faceted crystals and then the Gold watch for special occasions.
Most people just listen to music and watch movies. I EXPERIENCE them.

You guys have more than one watch? And you use them based on what you're wearing? Hmmmm....I know someone that lives with me that thinks about that for her "accessories".....

I wear the same watch if I'm going to a wedding, mowing the lawn, or repairing my car. I do have another one I got for my 20th anniversary at my job, but only wear it once in a blue moon when my watch is out of batteries and such.

I've had the same watch for over 15 years

Exactly like this one but instead of "automatic" it reads "professional"

I have quite a few watches. The only one I wear daily is my Polar while at the gym. Other than that I have a couple of Patek Philippe,Boucheron, and some others that are not really worth a montion. These watches are like audio imo. Nice to look at but it's what's inside that matters.

Interesting thread. Stangely enough, I live alone and have 29 clocks in my house...yet don't wear a watch. I like the Casio one in your pic, reminds me of HS when I had a Casio calculator watch...coolest kid in school.
