On the Monitor 70's there are two speaker terminals...does it matter which set i use top or bottom?

its the plate that provides connectivity to both sets of speaker inputs. If you were to bi-amp your speakers you would remove the jumper, but that requires external amplification.

My receiver has speaker terminals that say "Bi-Amp" on them they are the same terminals that I would use for the Rear Surrounds if I decided to go 7.1...would I still need external amplification to bi-amp? What benefits does Bi-amping give me?

You could, but I wouldnt recommend it, you wouldnt be gaining anything by bi-amping from your receiver, im assuming then you would use the other outputs for a 7.1 set-up. I dont bi-amp my speakers so maybe someone can chime in that does and they can give you their thoughts on it.

I'd probably rather go 7.1 anyways....if i had the room for it.
