speaker problems

I am having some problems with the RT20 speakers and a center channel I purchased new in 1996. I now have 3 drivers that have a humming sound. There is no visible defect in the rubber surround or the cone. This makes 4 speakers that have had this problem. One was repaired under warranty. The retailer I bought them from is no longer in business so their service department is not an option. Two of the problem speakers are MW8003 and one is a MW4850. What are my options? Replace the entire speaker system? Replace the drivers? Repair the drivers? I like the speakers and would prefer to keep them if it is practical. Is this a common occurance with these speakers? I hope some of you will take time to guide me. Thanks in advance.

Replace the drivers. My dad has the RT20p's and has had to have the 6.5" drivers replaced already for going bad. Unfortunately, they're not available any more....Main Surround -

Thanks for the response. Are the speakers avialable on the used market? Is there anyone who does repair work on speakers if they are no longer available?

I doubt they are readily available. You can check ebay, someone has them every so often.
You can call polk and ask for engineering - they may rebuild them for you if you're very, very nice.Main Surround -

Hate to say it, but it maybe time to discover audio all over again. For what it would cost in shipping and repairs, find yourself some rtia 1's or 3's and don't look back. Polks line up has come along way since the rt line. Try your local craigslist or Audiogon for used speakers if budget is tight.HT SYSTEM-

Hi Guys.
I was giving my Yamaha rx-v665 a workout the other day and then suddenly it just shut right down. I reset the amp and tried it again and could not get past a certain vol # where they have pos/neg values for volume. I called
Yamaha and was told it's a protection circuit feature and happens either when there is a short, out of phase, or hits a certain frequency. The tech asked me to do the old process of elimination game w/ one spkr at a time
and shure enough it was my right front Klipsch that has some internal disease.Calling Klipsch wasn't that bad and after I proved all my paper trail
and serial #s they said they will Fed EX a speaker out to me. That was 2 weeks ago and still waiting. The system works but if you want to go nuts it's like telling you oh no .Until this my reveiw of my Klipsch set was good for the
price. Ther're sealed so there is no way to see internally what's going on.2chl- Adcom GFA- 555-Onkyo P-3150v pre/amp- JVC-QL-A200 tt- Denon 1940 ci cdp- Adcom GFS-6 -Modded '87 SDA 2Bs - Dynamat Ext.- BH-5- X-Overs VR-3, RDO-194 tweeters, Larry's Rings, Speakon/Neutrik I/C- Cherry stain tops Advent Maestros,Ohm model E
