What would the better choice for a new AVR? The things I want are Ethernet capability, 3-D ready, HDMI in/out, iPhone compatible.

1. Pioneer Elite VSX-32

2. HK 3600

3. Anything else in that price range.....I will most likely use my 555 with the front L/R, but not sure if the 545 would be better with this setup or even if the AVR will be powerful enough to power everything through it without needing the external amp. Will be powering the RTi8's.

I would have to throw in a vote for the Pioneer VSX-1120K to save you a few bucks. Only real difference is the face (which I actually prefer on the 1120), one year warranty on the 1120K vs two year on the VSX32, and that the Elite has the 12V triggers. But seeing as you have the HTS1600 I'm assuming you don't really NEED the triggers.

FWIW I plan on replacing my Denon with the 1120K. It can be found for around $450 and has a heck of a lot of stuff packed into it for that kind of price point. Pretty hard to beat IMO
    Main Setup
    Fronts - Energy RC-50's
    Center - Energy RC-LCR
    Rear - Energy RC-R's
    Subs - Gone...
    AVR - Pioneer SC-37
    Blu-Ray - Sony BDP-S360
    TV - Vizio E550I-B2
    Media Server - Mac Mini

+1 on the 1120, I love mine. I looked at the HK 3600 a long time and considered it but went with the pioneer due to price and have been happy with it. Good luck!

+1, The Pioneer, in particular, is a lot more USER friendly than any HK. But they're both nice sounding receivers...with the HK being a bit 'warmer'.
