Onkyo tx-sr608 with Polk Audio RM6750

Hi all, I am new to this forum.
I have an Onkyo tx-sr608 and the 5.1 channel Polk Audio rm6750, after hooking up the speakers I notice I have to turn the volume up to 40+ just to start hearing sound, is this normal?

    Have you run the auto calibration?
    I have the 807 and it's about the same. Remember the -db scale is logarithmic, not linear. As such, how far you turn it up is not going to scale the way you think.
