Vibrating woofer, w/ replacement speaker aswell..

I purchased a set of mm6501 of eBay. They were brand new in box, unopened. Installed them in my vehicle, amped by Rockford Fosgate amp displacing 120 watts RMS to each speaker.

1 speaker I noticed had a vibrating woofer. First reaction was, I have a door rattle. Well after removing the speaker FROM the door I verified the rattle was going on, within the speaker.

So I thought I was screwed, and without a warranty through polk (used ebay item) I was forced to buy a new woofer. Well I've recieved said woofer, installed the speaker and I still have the same problem..

I've checked my wiring, +/-'s a good, I tried to run the wire as far away from the power wire as possible. Still it seems to vibrate.

Once again this isn't a noise i'm hearing during music like a whine, it's literally an audible, mechanical vibration that can be heard from the speaker when the bass hits... Other than the vibration the speaker itself sounds great.

I'm stumped...I really need some advice.. Could a crossover do this?? IDK.

Since the new woofer does it too, it sure sounds like something else is causing it. Try switching the left and right outputs from the amplifier and see whether the "rattle" follows the amplifier channel or the crossover/speaker.

Well I went out and played with it, even though it's like 15 degrees outside. Turns out the problem lies somewhere in the amplifier. I did get in a car accident back in May and I originally thought the amp survived without any damage but that's clearly not the case..

As soon as I switched the speaker wires to the other channel, buzzing/vibrating noise. It even started changing pitch on it's own... What's bizarre though, is after I moved the cables back to their original positions, the buzzing/vibrating STAYED on that speaker, and continued on the other side. So the channel was previously working fine, and now has the same problem. WTFFFFFFFFFFFFF

Does this mean something else is causing my channels to blow up? The only weakness I can think of, is I had to extend the speaker wire a bit, and used male/female spade connectors that are shielded w/ plastic. I'm afraid to try someone elses amp and ruin their channels!
