Holy canoli!! Good to hear you survived. I've got a couple of friends who are alive only because of seatbelts as well. Good luck on your recovery. Oh ya, by the way, while you were in the hospital I went and saw Roger Waters perform The Wall!!! Unfreakingbelievable! I know you are a Floyd fan so I thought I'd share. You have to get the blu-ray when it comes out. Anyway, merry Christmas to you your girlfriend and your families Curt!! And a speedy recovery as well.

:eek:Whew that was a close one Curt. Been praying for you since the original notice was put up here. Keep plugging bro and get to 100%. BTW you need to pay Jesse part of the $250k cause he's got henchmen here and there are some out your way!:biggrin:

Seriously though I'm damned glad you didn't leave us.

Thanks for the well wishes everyone!

Several of you have asked how my friend is...I meant to mention that in my original post but forgot to.

His injuries weren't as bad as mine, but he by no means got out of it unscathed. He broke one of his arms and got some pretty bad whiplash. He's got a neck brace on right now, which he's going to have to wear for quite a while from the sounds of it(I've also got a neck brace on, which I forgot to mention). He also had a variety of cuts and bruises...but he fared better than I did, fortunately.

Welcome back CC. I actually owe you an apology. There was a thread were we were informed by somebody that you were in an accident . I made a post that said "Hehe". What happened is I got your moniker confused with someone else's and when we were informed that you had been in a coma for the past week, I thought the informant was pulling some legs since the other person had just posted that day. Hours before, actually.

Anyhoo, please accept my apologies and I'm glad to hear that you are doing OK [relatively speaking].

No worries at all. I figured it was something like that.;)

I didn't figure you were laughing at my misfortune or anything like that...lol

    Welcome back.

To help your recover that last 10% I'll remind you that you owe me $250,000.

Damn...I forgot about that. Me might have to set up some kind of installment plan...I don't think I'm gonna be able to come up with 250k all at once. I'll get back to ya on that...lol

I'm still waiting for the SDAs! I was wondering why it was taking you so much time to ship them....I forgive you now!

Glad to hear you are recovering well best of luck on the rest of it. You might be surprised as to the damage deer can do to the car and people inside, the ditch might have been your best bet anyway. Welcome back...

As for your GF showing you how much she missed you....PICS or it didn't happen!!!

Hey now...we agreed that you were going to come pick them up and pay me 250,000 dollars for them. Don't be trying to swindle me into paying for shipping!! I really need that 250k too, or else Jesse's going to be losing his patience!!
Glad to see you back Curt!

You can give me guitar lessons to help speed your recovery.

lol...I've never had the patience for giving guitar lessons. I've given a few of my friends lessons in the past, and it's never really been an enjoyable experience for me. So, if you want guitar lessons I wouldn't be the teacher that you want...lol

Curt - I have a care package coming next week with some Polk stuff and some stuff from me personally to pick on you and hopefully make you laugh. Don't get too bored, don't stay in bed all the time and make sure you keep focused on the physical therapy for your body and brain. Get well soon.

    Mark,

That's awesome! It's much appreciated. I can't wait to see it...that oughtta help me kill some time while I'm laid up. I'll let you know when it arrives!
Welcome back Curt! Glad you're on the mend.
You have a lot of post whoring to catch up on......
    Good to have you back.

Yeah, I know...my average posts per day is really slipping these days. I'm gonna have to get back on top of that!

Curt good to see you back. Glad your OK man and hope to see you in the future when I get a chance to head down your way again!

Yeah, we'll definitely have to get together again sometime. I'm hoping I can manage to get the XO mods on my SDA's and Monitor 7's done over the winter. I've been slowly accumulating the parts I need over the last few months...and I've got around half of them now. If I manage to get them done, you'll have to come check out some modded SDA's!

I really wish I could have made it to one of those Roger Waters shows...but it came down to a choice between that and going to Furthur's 3 night run at Red Rocks in Colorado...and Furthur won out. I bet those Roger Waters shows were awesome though...and I'm glad to hear you had a great time! As for getting the Blu-ray when it comes out...I'd have to have a Blu-ray player first.;) If they release it on DVD though, I'll probably pick it up. I won't be making the Blu-ray transition for a long time yet I'm sure, since my TV isn't even HD.

Hey Curt, hope you got some good tunes while you heal. That's a scary experience.

Fortunately I do. Shortly before the accident, I got a box full of vinyl...probably about 30 different records...from one of my friends that was cleaning out his parents house to help them move. They didn't want any of them, nor did he...so he gave me a call and asked me if I wanted them. There was some good stuff in there...several AC/DC albums, some Steely Dan, Country Joe and the Fish, a few Crosby/Stills/Nash albums...and a bunch of other stuff.

Some of the wonderful members of Club Polk are also sending me some burnt CD's to help pass the time! Thanks everyone!!

Yeah, I've been worried about this lately. I've actually been sitting upstairs in my house looking out the window with a rifle waiting for his henchmen to show up. I'm not gonna go down without a fight! I just wish I could remember why I even owe Jesse that quarter mil! But, I know Jesse wouldn't lie to me, so I must owe it to him...lol

    Curt,

Definitely dig through your music, and re-discover it. It will help mend the wounds and provide some interesting experiences I'll venture.

You may want to look into Oliver Sacks book about Music and the human brain when your feeling up to it.

Of course. I'm sure I'll be back climbing here in another day or two. I'll just take this damn cast off my leg myself, take a whole bunch of meds and grunt my way through the pain!! YEAAAAHHHHH!!!!:eek:

I've definitely been spending a lot more time doing critical listening than I have been for the last few months. I've been busting out a lot of stuff that I haven't listened to in quite a while too. I actually got about 30 new LP's right before the accident too, that I'd hardly dug into yet...so that's been keeping me busy. A few different members are also currently sending me some burnt CD's to keep me occupied. :D

I'll check out that book...thanks for the suggestion. Sounds like an interesting read.

Time for your physical therapy, LoCurtico.

btw... What kind of pain meds they giving you and what will you take in trade?

    Now that's the kinda therapist I need!!!

As far as the pain meds go...I'm taking dilauded and oxycontin. I've actually been taking dilauded for a couple years now though, due to an old shoulder injury. They were trying to give me vicodins rather than oxycontin, but I told them to shove it. Vicodin is a complete waste of time to me...it does absolutely nothing for me. It's basically the equivalent of taking a regular strength Tylenol.

They've also got me on several other meds(antibiotics etc.)...the names of which escape me at the moment.

Mail me one of those Pomeranian puppies and I'll send you like 6 dilaudeds and 10 oxy's!:wink:

    Deal? That's like a $210 street value!!

Somehow, I think Jerry had a bit of an edge on me as far as guitar playing goes. But, quite true none the less.

My guitar playing is coming along nicely...I'm still not where I was at before the accident, but it's coming back.

I received a care package from Doro today...containing a bunch of various Polk swag! Some cool stuff!!

He also threw in a pair of his very own crotchless panties. From the looks of it, he wore them for a couple weeks before sending them, so they were nice and soiled!! This is my favorite Christmas present so far!!
