    Who cares? Get over it already. It's old news and all this pseudo "outrage" is tiresome. Most Eagles fans have already proven to be hypocrites over it and embraced the Philadelphia Vick. They are already talking about how the Philadelphia Vick is going to go to the Super Bowl.

    I'll explain it, but I'm not really sure why you keep comparing Michael Vick to a pedophile. He was a dumb a** who got caught up in dog fighting. As a consequence, he went to federal pound me in the a** prison, USP Leavenworth, and served his time.

    He didn't molest children. He didn't molest animals.

    So what I'm getting at is -- why can't the grown man own a damn dog? :confused: If anything, it would be good for him to think what a piece of crap he was.

    I agree that he's paid hsi debt and certainly has earned the right to show his remorse / reformation, but.... he's a sociopath, why are we pretending otherwise? I don't know how you can be around a group of people that gets their jollies torturing animals (even hunters, who get a lot of crap fro what they do, generally feel bad if they wound but don't kill) and think it's a good idea to stick around. I see someone electrocute a dog to death for their jollies, the BEST case is I leave and never go back, I don't hang around and buy part ownership in their awesome club.

    I didn't compare him to a pedophile, I just didn't see how that comparison 'illogical' it could make someone's brain hurt.

    I do think hurting a child is worse than hurting a dog...at the same token, they're both disgusting IMO.

    Just like ex-felon's can't own a gun (even though they served their time), I don't believe Vick should be given the privilege of owning a dog. I also don't think he should be given the privilege of being back in the NFL, but that's another debate:smile:

    Comparing what Vick did to being a pedophile is idiotic. I'm not sure who brought that up, but it's idiotic and you know it.

    When you're looking at something like this, everything starts with who or what the victim is:

    If I am doing over 20 miles per hour in a school zone and I run over a dog, I'm probably going to get a ticket and a slap on the wrist and maybe some kind of civil suit with the owner. If I run over and kill a child, the punishment is going to be much more severe because I killed another human.

    I love dogs, but like it or not animals are simply lower on the food chain than humans. Obviously there are different 'levels' of 'animal-ness' because nobody thinks twice about squashing a bug and yet most of us don't go around smashing in pet's skulls with a sledgehammer, but at the end of the day animals are still a step down from us humans, even dogs.

    Do i say that to suggest that what he did was not wrong because it was an animal? No, that would be just as idiotic as some of the other statements made here. I I bring it up only to negate the stance that what he did is comparable to child molestation - they're simply not the same.
