Putting in an offer on a house today!

Our agent is drawing up the papers right now to make an offer on what will hopefully be our first home. The house seems to have been a fix and flip so everything is BRAND NEW... new paint (in and out) appliances, counters, floors, everything!

The best part is... theater room in the basement! It has an approx. 7 wide by 4 high by 2 deep insert built into the wall for my tv and offers just a perfect space.

I guess an offer was put in yesterday that wasn't accepted on the place so hopefully ours will be.

Wish us luck!

Ugh, just went through mine last October, buying a house isn't a fun process. Ours sounds very similar, new kitchen, plumbing, elec, the best thing is not having a landlord to answer to! Good luck, and as said before, get your hand ready to sign!!

Good luck with the purchase. FYI - Zillow (www.zillow.com) is your friend. If your agent did not research the house, you can. Just type in the address and find out when the last sale was, how much, etc.

Can't wait for the CP obigitory gathering in the new house!

Well our offer was accepted pending a few minor details like the closing date. I will know a bit later today if they will allow us to push that 2 weeks beyond the 45 days we originally discussed. Crossing my fingers again that this will all go through. If so, there will certainly be a polk gathering in the near future!

Alright, everything is set and ready to go! Inspection is Monday and closing is Feb. 15th (4 days before my 24th birthday) We are touring it again tomorrow to take some measurements and start the hunt for some new furniture and know what we are working with in every room so I will certainly be snapping some pictures of the theater room for everyone here.

And somehow things got even better today... my mit terminator 2 cables showed up via UPS. Wow, you really don't realize how big they are until they show up. They really need to post some better reference pictures on their site to show what you are up against. I've seen Larry's S3's but didn't expect these to be nearly the same size but yet they are... impressive. Now it's time to hook them up!

Alright... as everyone says pics or it didn't happen. Well it's happening and I just got back from taking a few measurements and photos so here's a few I got.

The first picture is of the theater room. Measurements are 14 wide by 13 deep. The shelf in the wall for the tv is 7.5' wide and 43" tall and just over 2 feet deep which will help with viewing distances to squeeze 2 rows of seats in.

    IMG_1163.jpg

This is a view of the theater room and the cutout for the tv to go into.

    IMG_1164.jpg

    Another view to show depth.

    IMG_1165.jpg

The rest of the basement (should have enough room for a pool table and bar)

    IMG_1161.jpg

Already hoping that the wife will allow a 2 channel system to occupy this room.

    IMG_1171.jpg

And of course the actual house... as if that's really important...
