I'm just sick of them telling people that are new stuff that is completely useless and that then we post something telling them no, there are better options and have to explain why.

If you don't respond at all, you allow them to tell the person a lot of crap that in the end, won't get them anywhere but running around in circles. The OP will ask for you to explain and it of course will normally refer back to the other side of things, this in turn causes fighting and is normally caused by ohh who...very certain people who like to pop up just at the right time, in the right thread, to say the right thing.

    fyi just an example:
I bought into Emo amps when I first joined, no one ever posted in the thread that I started that I could find stuff on audiogon, etc and bought an emo, now that I nicely wasted my time and money on them wish someone would have told me of other things or better ones to look for as I would have been a lot farther along then where I was at the time. Granted I learned from it, but almost a hard way, and wasted a lot of money at first doing it because I was sooo needing those watts I didn't know any better. Bought the stuff heard other stuff, liked the other stuff better and sold my stuff and was pissed because I just wasted like 6 months with the Emo gear thinking it was decent when it failed and I always said there is something missing and I didn't know what it was. Granted upgrade never stops but I would have probably be a lot father along when I look back at spending about 3K on amps.....

    anyways,

I think my biggest thing I find funny, is that a certain person is a mod somewhere else yet knows full what they say, do, act, and tell people will bring argument but never fails to stop doing it. Why it continues is beyond me. See this thread for example, the I'm always right your wrong, shows already.

    ?? Where in this thread?

William asked one simple question: How do you know they are from AH?

Look at the Ad-hom attacks to a 100% relevant question. That is one of the major problems IMO.

And as an example of a thread going off the rails w/o me to blame:

I say New Speakers - My Boyfriend Says New Amps, Whos Right?

The thread did get back on track fortunately.

I gave my reason for the ban in the thread. It was that the question was already asked and answered. I concurred with RussMan's assessment: that Wiki was trolling. When I saw the same exact thing pop up over at AH I had my suspicions confirmed.

Initially I thought it was Wiki using another handle. Then I found out it was a totally different coward.

So, you ban someone mearly because a question was already asked and answered!?! Talk about being a coward.

the thread got back on track becasue the person wound up not being a troll from your forum. Funny how that happens. The shame of it is, because of you and your ilk, this happenned. you know, it can happen to other audio forums too. who knows? These are funny times we live in

No, I banned them because RussMan was correct.

Had I not seen the exact same post on another forum then I wouldn't have banned them. Sometimes you get lucky and catch it before it starts. Can't do it every time but as luck would have it...

I know most of us live in America (You know, land of 'I'm not responsible' and 'It's not my fault') but your statement really takes the cake (or is that PIE)?

I mean this COULD happen at other boards, but outside of here and AVS, but it doesn't seem to (that is the forums I frequent, YMMV).

The shame is an innocent poster was ganged up on.

what the hell is trolling, except for one overreaction to a darqueknight response to a new guys sorta silly question, i dont think i have ever done anything terrible, so i guess im safe.

there is definitely a small click, but the worst thing i have noticed from them are unfunny smarty pants type stuff if they dont care for your posts.

its kinda like any print shop, warehouse, home depot or any where else i have ever worked.

it just seems like human behavior.

i will admit i dont even know what trolling is(as it relates to this matter, my dad and i caught a lot of fish trolling lake hartwell but i dont think thats what anyone is talking about.)

We would need a pic of said nose before the question can be accurately answered. I would hate to misjudge based on misconceptions about said nose.

Here's an answer, bud. x can confirm.

I was thinkin' more of a schnoz of epic proportions! Like one of the Greek guys I used to race with. His mother was an Israeli and his father was hardcore Greek. He used to say he had "a Greek Beak of Jewish proportions!" Dude couldn't wear a full-face helmet unless it had a nose pocket and even then his nose would be red from rubbing on the edge of the visor hole! He listed his nose as a blind spot on his car insurance. Said he could hide an entire Buick there if he closed one eye. Some of the more jerk-ish people he knew called him Toucan Sam. He'd get mad. Start shouting "My name isn't SAM!" (It was Iannos but who's counting?)

At times, he honestly couldn't see beyond his own nose!

Now THAT was an epic schnoz! Shoulda won an award or something.

Yeah - I see there is no love loss (or is it lost) for Bose as a brand of speakers here...

I find it humorous that only one speaker product has been signaled out as having zero credibility.

Although I'm new to this forum I've found everyone here to be very friendly....

Can someone explain what problem a few people have with jinjuku? He's been pretty helpful to me. I have however seen a few people (the same ones that did it here) jump on his case unprovoked. Is there history or something?

It seems, just reviewing the threads jinjuku posted in recently, a couple of you are the instigators. Perhaps this wasn't always the case, but at least from my shallow research, there are a couple of you that are the ones exhibiting troll-like behavior and not him. Really, I don't get it. maybe someone can clear this up, because from what I have seen he seems to be pretty helpful. Although not in-line with the thinking of some of the "larger personalities" here.

It's the same thing that happens on every large, active forum Newrival. You can't make sense of it. Honestly, I don't even notice it anymore since it's usually isolated threads that aren't of much interest anyways. Sure, some forums squash all that quickly and the lifeforce on them is basically non-existent but we're different here. Most of these member problems work themselves out and....well eventually the problems get pruned. I'm only concerned with trying to assist, answer questions, get involved in a serious argument and then try to repeat the process.

It seems to me the search for great audio is like prospecting for gold.

When you find it, it's great to share the positive experience.

But when you don't, that doesn't mean that prospecting doesn't work, and it certainly doesn't mean that gold doesn't exist.

In many instances jink will insist gold does not exist.
