Connecting to Netflix / Internet - the best way

Looking to link into netflix / internet from my computer to my AVR / TV. What's the best format for a clean uninterrupted streaming HD movie connection? I heard that wi-fi connections can have delays, and that using an Ethernet cable would be the best bet. I have to run through the walls about 40 feet. I am using Verizon's Fiber Opic router from my office. If cable - what's a good cable to purchase?

    Wired would be the way to go, cable Cat 5.

    +1, I ran Cat5 from my router to my BluRay, no problems streaming movies.

    make sure you buy a pre terminated cable . Cat 5 is not easy to build yourself. I suggest you measure your run out and leave it a little long on each side . Also pick up a 5 port Gigbit switch from netgear. With that one run you can have 4 ports( one being the wire from the router). Most gear needs a ethernet connection.

    I suggest you by a cat5e cable . Also make sure when you run it you do not kink it in any way. You will ruin the cable if you do so be very careful.
    I strongly suggest you get a Installer to come out and run you one and terminate it for you. You can have a good Installer do some network clean up and wireless stiffing to see how good your network is covering your home. I do networks every day as my job has over the years evolved into IP control. I do all big systems now and I setup very large Networks. But as long as you ca run the wire without any sharpe turns and keep it clean with soft bends , you can do this yourself.

    I forgot to mention Wired is the only way to go with Netflix unless you have a solid Wireless N network. Verizons routers suck **** and are only G currently. I use them and turn off wireless and use multible Apple Airport extremes around the house n Bridge mode using them as WAP's. This type of network you can stream with very well with no slow downs.

    Also there are power line network kits out there (figure about $100-150).

    ** as a point of clarification wireless G has more than enough bandwidth to handle Netflix or even a DVD rip (but no blu-ray).
