So far, I've been using the "Irene" scene from Black Hawk Down due to its extended scene with lots of bass!

Avatar and Iron man movies are great "NEW" ones. I like soundtrack on Wolverine and Fantastic 4. Hulk was amazing as well as the New Star Trek movie. Terminator Salvation was excellent for a demo as I use that a lot when people come over wanting to hear my ST's.
Resident Evil-anyone of them they have killer soundtracks.
There are so many good one it's hard to make a short list but for DVD
    Matrix - all of them
Star Wars - all of them especially EP1
    Terminator 2 classic excellent soundtrack
Gladiator which was a excellent 6.1 movie as well as killer bass and movement.
    Powder - great clean soundtrack
Gone in 60 seconds , one of my favorites for a good clean Demo.

This should give you a good start , thanks now I want to go watch a demo clip myself.

Have you tried Private Ryan on BD? I believe it's a DD True HD mix. I haven't had the chance to put it in yet, but I'm hoping it's an improvement over the DD/DTS soundtracks.

With that being said, which soundtrack do you go to for reference? Specific things to look for me? Certain scenes or even events which give you the oomph you're looking for.

For me during the "Irene" scene, when the black hawks take off, plenty of bass to go around.

I'm surprised no one has mentioned the emergence scene for WOTW

Seriously... During the scene, I would feel a gust of air come out of nowhere. Of course all the windows and doors were closed. To my dismay it was my subwoofer spewing air at me. It was no light breeze, it was a good poof of air.

Surprised no one's mentioned Indiana Jones (4?). The scene where the temple finally goes down and is replaced by the waterfall filling the crater...continuous bass there.

Oh, and Band of Brothers. Both the first scene on disk 2 (the planes all flying) and the one where they're being bombarded by artillery + trees blowing up everywhere.

I never got that much deep bass from BoB. It has a couple of scenes and it's good but I never thought it was reference for me. With that said I have never tried BoB on BD.

i have not but the dvd has a special edition dts version that people used to rave about even myself. i'm most certain that the bd is a huge improvement in both sp and sq. btw check out pulse as well. has some of the most unrealisticaly deep and powerful i've heard in a horror movie.

Those DTS Saving Private Ryan DVDs are hard to come by. Now that you mention pulse, the other day Dr Hsu at Hsu research demoed a clip from the Haunting which was pretty impressive.
