If they were in my local, I'd buy them in a minute and over a bit of time find replacement drivers at the right price. A work in process is always a part of this hobby and most often worth the outcome.

This just reassures me that their are still plenty of stupid people that walk amongst us.
Not that the awesome upgrade is enough...
Check out the tweeter installation, dumb **** couldn't even get the screw locations (rotation) the same on both sides.
Just think, these are the same morons that share the road with the rest of us.:eek: -

I find myself agreeing with you after reading this... -
I used that Vifa D19 3/4" polymide dome tweeter in my first atempt at a DIY speaker back in the late 80's.Not only is it IMO a very poor sounding tweet I can't imagine it being a close match to the stock polk 1" dome.It's a strange choice since in all likelihood the crossover would need to be reworked and in 2003 there would be a multitude of better tweeter choices available .
