Rarely does he get a compliment....it's 99% complaints and reported posts by members. Most of which are taken care of by the time they get read and distributed internally.

Isn't that a general rule for tech support? You almost never hear about a product or service working great; you only hear about failures.

Maybe we need a Patrick day where we can clog his mailbox with "thank you" messages. Perhaps Dec. 24th or 30th so we can ensure it gets really full. :)

Isn't that a general rule for tech support? You almost never hear about a product or service working great; you only hear about failures.

    :)

True but this is corporate user forum, not a IT or tech support that simply handles that function....to serve ONLY Club Polk. It's different.

Patrick and the MODS handle a function here but Patricks' duty is more offline and internal to HQ. The MODS are more online and Club Polk related. Kenneth Swauger and NAP are the only ones you need to REALLY worry about, as they're tough. They are the judge, jury and moderators, simply put.

Some of you historically, a few of you actually, have inundated the repository of the reported post area so many times, over the last year(S) [e.g.] that you look like a problem as well. Yes, you are helping, most of the time I guess but when your name is attached to everything reported, everything bad, everything you're trying to help with....of which gets scrutinized depending on the subject, etc etc. Can you see the problem here? Hey, it's your numbers not mine. If you fly off the handle in that reported post, it also reflects on you in the end. I've been in some of those major historical threads early in Polkie life and sporadically here and there to this day.

We all have a personality here on Club Polk and sometimes it doesn't flesh out with others. It happens and we're only human. I know we try to keep it on topic for the most part but every now and then we tend to lash out. In reality it should be taken offline. Other times, you just have to call it out as you see it and in that case pay the piper. However, there have been multiple times that Polkies have called out true and solid issues. It's the Catch-22 of any forum participation. I consider this my home forum and it pains me to get overly defensive about it but sometimes I do.

What cannot be a regular post and thread response is when you follow a member and attack him, or comment in every post of that member....for no real reason. If you have an issue with the member, take it offline BUT I'd also encourage you to take the subject to the MOD more than ever. KEN and NAP are awesome MODs but keep in mind that they are also going to toe the line and petty things are seriously best thought out ahead of time before you approach them. You should really think out your message to them since they aren't as forgiving as the old crew.

Just because you report a post doesn't make you a bad person but don't flag a post because you dislike someone. You should report posts because of **** and blatant images or content. I'd seriously suggest you chill for a hour or so and let the MODS take care of things prior to reporting the post(s). Some of the forum statistics are easily viewed within vBulletin and Lasareath posted one of the generics that all users can see....high posters, last login, etc.

When Patrick or KAB see the reported post, we all see it. Well, I don't anymore but you get the point. Guess who has to clean all that up? Patrick and the MODS. Imagine getting 1000 emails for useless things everyday? As stated previously, most of it it is quickly handled and you simply waste everyones time, including yours. If it's clearly offensive and detrimental to the forum and its members, please report it but maybe slack off a little bit on generic SPAM, for example. KEN is handling this place much better now and with an even keel so if you have complaints, looks like you have to start to complain about who took care of you from the CS perspective for the last 20+ years, comp'd you parts, covered warranty without receipts, shook your hand at Polkfest and who knows what else.

I apologize for rattling on but it's been in response to issues I rolled into my forum box as a MOD.

Just to make sure ... as far as "Reported Posts" go, you're not talking about the "Nokia Phones 4 Sale", imbedded-in-post-link spam stuff are you ?

We should listen, to be sure, because Patrick and Kenneth Swauger have a way of dealing with n'eer do wells !

I have it on good authority that they're employing the use of Chuck Norris, as illustrated in this actual footage of Chuck in operation (too big to imbed):

Must be something wrong with me...........I report nothing except the occasionally pesky spammer. I don't believe in "reporting" someone or something unless it's extremely serious as in real life threats of death, ****, racial, etc. The rest just works itself out, I have my say and move on.

I never realized there are sooooooo many cry babies on the forum that report every little thing that gets under their skin. What's the world coming to? It's an on-line forum for christsakes!
