    That wasn't me, I don't think....
I was here in Atlanta, wishing I was back there at Pearl, it's cold here...

Had an uncle in the Navy during WWII that had 2 carriers shot out from underneath him. Dad that was a medic in WWII; served during the Huertgen Forest.

Very, very rarely would either of them speak of their service and even then, very, very little.

"With confidence in our armed forces—with the unbounding determination of our people—we will gain the inevitable triumph—so help us God."

People may or may not agree with Roosevelt's politics, but ..... that line gives me goose bumps everytime. Masterful.

There aren't many of those guys left. Of all my uncles and my dad, only one uncle is still alive. My high school science teacher had a wood leg from the war. WWII was burned into their memories. And you wonder why most of them won't buy a Toyota or VW?

Both of my parents served proudly in WW2. They truly were the greatest generation and I thank God some of those vets are still here ,we owe so very much to them. All gave some, some gave all. Lest We Forget

It's pretty crazy to me that all I have heard everywhere since I woke up was this is the anniversary of John Lennon's murder. Yesterday, I only heard passing mentions of Pearl Harbor. Its sad that such an important day in our history has been passed over. Soon there will no longer be any survivors of those who fought in that war (my grandfather included).
