what audio components is your system comprised of ?

I do not understand your statement
quote: " I have the volume up all the way ! "

Pictures of your connections would help.

Turn down the gain on the sub to 11 oclock on the dial. Manually calibrate the sub through your receiver speaker setup so that the sub is no higher than 3dbs above your mains. Make sure all you speaker and the sub values are in the negative number range, so as not to clip the input signal (-3 to -5 is perfect). Make sure your sources are outputting bitstream via toslink or HDMI. Run Audyssey or whatever if you have it. Make sure your speakers are set to small (for starters) and the crossover in your AVR is set to 80hz. Put in a LFE heavy movie and tell us what you're hearing. The 505 is not a world beater, but it should do the job. You've obviously have a setup issue or a defective sub.

    Combo rig:

Onkyo NR1007 pre-pro, Carver TFM 45(fronts), Carver TFM 35 (surrounds)
    SDA 1C, CS400i, SDA 2B
    PB13Ultra RO

First don't run the subs volume knob on the back " all the way up". Your system needs to be properly calibrated so it matches your 9's at your listening level.

You need to get it setup properly and I'd bet it'll sound a lot better. Stick with the help here and give it some time.

I would hope some of our resident subwoofer fans would start chiming instead of being tied up in useless threads.

Where in the room is your sub located? I have my PSW125 in the corner of my room and it gives out a decent amount of bass (cant turn it all the way up w/o shaking the walls of the apartment next to me). My room setup is 16x14 w/ 9 ft ceilings and its open to a dining room that is 12x9 so your room isnt to large by any means. Placing your sub in the corner will help. Also do the sub crawl.

Take your sub if possible, put it in our listening position. Then crawl around on the floor and see where you here the most bass. That should be the spot you put the sub for max bass in your room.

Also if you can find a way to post pics (like you tried earlier) that would be of the most help.

Try giving it 6 inches on either side to give it some room to breath. Other than that can you post pictures of the rest of the layout so we can get an idea of where your seating is, other speakers, ect. Make sure the dial on the back for crossover frequency is all the way up above 240 I think it is (this lets the receiver set the crossover frequency)
