King of the Breakfast Meats!

OK, I'm tired of threads about bathrooms, pissed off customers, people in the hospital, people gettin' divorced and losin' jobs. It's depressing and this is not a time of year to be depressed. So lets have a poll and discussion about meat. Specifically, breakfast meats. You know, that "side order" you get at the diner or you just can't eggs without it? I got all the REASONABLE options I could think of. I know one of you wackos is going to have something odd like goose liver or something and you'll just have to post it in the thread.

BTW, I made it so you can vote for more than one.

Me, as much as BACON! is dear to my heart, my first vote goes to Pork Roll! That integral part of the "Jersey Breakfast", that Jersey native itself rules the frying pan on a Sunday morning! It's versatile too! Want a burger to die for? Skip the bacon. Add cheddar cheese, BBQ sauce, sauteed onions and a couple of slices of fried pork roll to that burger! It's heaven on a bun!

    Breakfast meats?

    In order:

    Bacon
    Breakfast sausage
    Steak

Hell, I'm down with chicken fried steak topped with a fried egg and sausage gravy, some crispy hash browns and a side of bacon.

Or you could just eat some oatmeal

    Naah!!!!

Ps. Love the way you spelled scrapple

Scrapple is wonderful stuff and very popular in the mid-Atlantic. In compliance with New Jersey's Right to Know law, however, it features "contents partially unknown". Some stones are better left unturned.

In southern North Carolina, there's a very similar concoction that's appetizingly known as "livermush". Can't make stuff like that up.

I think you forgot colon cancer -- I hope you voted

for me when i used to go on travel and get all you can eat complimentary breakfast at the usual full service hotel it was scrambled eggs by the huge serving spoon full -- 4 slices of french toast -- and a dozen slices of overcooked greasy bacon clumped together under the heating lamps.

Bacon....but with a proviso: After losing over 30 lbs in China my cholesterol and everything else is a little below 'normal' American levels--so BACON it is! I also like Duck sausage (but that's a Chinese thing...and not for breakfast--just for John's (I know you guys will come up with something not on my list?)
