I'm happy to see the guy doing well. It's easy to hate on the guy, and he certainly brought it on himself, but it's nice to see someone get a second chance and actually make good use of it.

Good on him to get it turned around. He paid his debt to society and is making good on his second chance. I hope he can keep it going for himself personally.

    Classy, real classy.

Awesome game to watch. I'm glad to see that he's not only keeping his nose clean, but playing killer ball as well. What an athlete.

I'm not saying I would like to kick it with the guy, but I'm glad he appears to be turning his life around. I think the way he handled the whole "Kolb-Vick controversy" that ESPN tried to create speaks volumes about his new approach to the game.

Yes, he paid his debt to society....but, I will continue in thinking that he is a despicable human being.

Like I said... I wouldn't want to hang with him. However, it's somewhat satisfying to see how he never bought into the whole ESPN contrived BS when he could have easily done it to further his cause.

Everyone has made a mistake sometime in there life Yes some worse then others, but when one turns his life around from a negitive to a positive it should be supported..

As far as money goes with this man he is not making the kind of money he should this year as it is going to fines and what not. He will not be compensated till next year for his accomplishments..

I say keep up the good work...

Class? Don't mention class and vick in the same sentence. So he can throw a ball. BFD. Some of the posters in this thread remind me what is wrong with America.

    vick =despicable human.

Technically, he didn't mention Vick and class in the same sentence.

Which posters, exactly, are a display of what's wrong with America? Nobody is talking about giving the guy a free pass because he's a footballl player. He's paid his debt to society, what else do you want from the guy?

Apparently you want him to die, which is just awful IMO.

Throw a ball? Yeah, and run the ball. And turn what would be a sack for any other QB into a big gain or touchdown. He's arguably the most talented athlete in the NFL. He paid his debt to society. If you can't get over it that's just tough. I never used classy and Vick in the same sentence, I was referring to you. I'll make sure not to use classy and your name in the same sentence, cool?

I've always had an affinity for dogs. I've had them growing up and I have one now as an adult. Vick did some very bad things. He certainly was a despicable human being.

People can learn from their mistakes and do good if they are shown the error of their ways, though. Thus far, he seems to be doing the right things and he's done his time. Is he a good person? I have no idea. Will I be surprised if he effs up again? Nah, but until he does I'm not going to bag on the guy and wish him ill. Still, I appreciate those with a healthy skepticism. Its hard not to be cynical.

The ONLY thing that Vick's sorry about is.........being caught. Get real, probably 25% of NFL players would be in prison if they didn't have playing abilities. Especially the Ravens !!!:biggrin:

While I do not want to see him dead... I do not think he belongs on the football field making millions either. Why we do not regard playing professional sports as a privilege that should be gone with a felony conviction, I will never know. There are a littany of professions that having a MISDEMEANOR conviction would bar someone from holding, and Pete Rose still cannot get into the Baseball Hall of Fame!

That said, I am glad he is NOT a Viking, and my team desperately needs someone of Vick's abilities. I could not support my team if he wore the Purple and Gold.

^^^ That argument never makes any sense to me. There are dozens of jobs where it makese sense to not have someone in there with a criminal background, especially jobs where judgement is critical.

So stuff like working at a bank or somewhere where lots of valuables are kept, being a cop, CEO of a big company, things of that nature.

The guy's a football player for chrissakes, the only people he can hurt are his team by making poor football decisions, and he seems to be avoiding those so far this year.

I'm all for people being disqualified from certain jobs due to a criminal background, but if i were going to order those jobs, football would probably be at the very bottom. If you're going to make the argument that bad guys shouldn't be allowed to play football, then we're going to lose quite a few players from the league, and I would pull some like Hanesworth out of the league way before I pulled Vick.

Saying that 'playing football is a privalege' doesn't make any sense to me. ANY job is a privalege. People choose or are chosen for their jobx based on their skills, playing football because you're a good athlete is being no more privaleged than me being a consultant because I'm smart. The fact the one job pays more than the other is insignificant, yet it's the crux of all the arguments along these lines.

Society has decided that people like athletes and actors should get paid more, that's society's fault, not the individual doing the job. Why should Vick not be allowed to play football just because society doesn't have it's priorities straight?

There are more than 5 million felons in America, the majority of which are not currently in prison. The more of them that choose to be productive members of society the better... and that can be said of non-offenders as well.

Then so be it... I don't care how many good players would be removed from the league because of their conduct or criminal backround. I am sick of seeing good and decent people not get a shot so we can worship the abilities of the thugs that seem to be taking over. Have we become so jaded that we no longer have any morals or decency left?

Because a 14 year old kid does not ask to have a Fathead on his wall of the CEO of Enron/BP or BofA. Like it or not, Athletes and Actors/Musicians are public figures and what they do because of that should have consequences. I do agree that he has paid his debt to society and should be allowed to earn a living, but as with other positions where commiting a crime costs you your ability to earn a living in your previous field of endeavor, This should be no different.

Playing professional football isn't a privilege, it's a job. It takes a huge amount of talent and athleticism to play at the top level. I hate what the guy did, and I really have no idea if he truly remorseful, but like it or not he's good for the game of football.

We could have people of only good moral character playing, but unfortunately they aren't the most talented. When you don't feature the best athletes people stop watching. There's a reason no one watches women's basketball.

He doesn't kill dogs for sport, but a valiant effort in trying to deflect away from what a team full of girls you have up there in MN.
