I know this isn't polk gear but hopefully you guys can help none the less. I have had a yamaha HTR-6140 for a while now and recently the highs have gotten really harsh sounding. i have tried switching speakers with no change. it also runs on a power conditioner, so clean power is not an issue.
any help would be great!

Sounds to me if old and the highs sound harsh, it needs service the caps have failed.
But could be a change to upgrade instead.

Maybe the AVR is getting too hot, maybe it needs more air.
