wall mounting Monitor 60

I'm a new Polk owner and have been impressed by some of the feedback and knowledge shared on these threads. Any suggestions on how to wall mount a new set of monitor 60's? I'm using them as front speakers for a home theater and considering 2 options: 1) using an speaker mounting plate on the bottom ( http://www.aperionaudio.com/product/Pinpoint-AM-40-Wall-Mount-6B-and-5B,57,40,162.aspx ) and placing a few short screws in the bottom, along with a wire or 2 screwed into the top and anchored to the wall to keep the top from tipping since they're so tall. or 2) using 2 flat screen tv mounting brackets ( http://www.monoprice.com/products/product.asp?c_id=108&cp_id=10828&cs_id=1082802&p_id=4564&seq=1&format=2 ) and placing many small screws into the back. I'm leaning toward option 1. Has anyone else had any success wall mounting these speakers?

Also, any suggestions for a wall bracket for a CS20 center?

Thanks

    Welcome to Club Polk!
You do know it's called a Floorstanding speaker, right?

At the most, I'd only consider putting it on a short riser. Anything higher than a few inches might raise the tweeter too far above ear level and could seriously affect imaging. I'm also thinking this could have an impact on bass performance too.

On the other hand, it can't hurt anything, so try putting them on something temporary to see how they sound, before you go to great lengths to mount them. Good luck! Let us know how it goes.

Btw, I own those same wall mounts and have my RTi4s bookshelves on them. They're great for that application. So, why is it that you want to raise the 60s, and exactly how far off the floor do you want them?

Thanks for the advice. We have high ceilings in the room and my wife thought they would look better mounted than sitting on the floor. After reading your input and showing her the reasons it might not be the best idea, they may remain floorstanding speakers. I was planning on elevating the bottom about 4 feet. I guess some of the positioning height depends how high on the wall the movies are projected and that remains to be determined because I have yet to pick out a projector and tried it out. I'm just anxious to hook up the speakers and listen to them, but I don't want to punch extra holes in the wall pulling the speaker wire through - so I want to make the correct decision the first time. Thanks again.
