Monitor 60 Driver Layout

I opened my Monitor 60's today to check out the dampening material and crossover location. http://www.polkaudio.com/homeaudio/products/recent/monitor60/
I got a big surprise. I have always assumed that the midrange driver, or the upper driver in the schematic was the top driver above the midrange. What I found instead was the two bass drivers which are jumpered together occupy the top positions surrounding the tweeter. The Midrange (upper driver) is on the bottom in the chamber with the bass port.
The schematic shows that the upper driver should have white and yellow connections. http://www.polkaudio.com/forums/showthread.php?t=38755
The white and yellow wires go to the lowest driver in both of my speakers and the black and red connections go to the two top drivers.
The white and yellow wires are not long enough to reach the top position to switch these so this does not look like an assembly mistake. I pulled open my second speaker and verified that they are identical.
I have a hard time understanding how the bass can travel past two sets of internal bracing and two rolls of poly fill to reach the bass port and why the (midrange\ upper driver) is not the top driver in the cabinet above the tweeter?

I pulled a driver out of my Monitor 70's and they match the schematic with the Midrange surrounding the tweeter. I didn't pull and look at the crossover ckt, but the wire colors and placement on the PCB card match the Monitor 70 engineering drawing.
I also emailed Polk Customer Service to see if this setup is correct or not. Should hear back later this week I assume. I plan on building a new set of crossovers for my Monitor 70's and most likely my Monitor 60's after the first of the year. I am just collecting the parts now so was doing some physical research of what is there. When I redo the crossovers I can easily correct the driver location.
Bass drivers are usually adjacent to the bass port, Correct? -
When you listen to it, do the mids come out of the bottom driver or top?

Moderator I believe this needs to be moved to the troubleshooting section.
I called Polk customer service today and the representative believed that the mid bass driver should be on top above the tweeter. He needed to confer with engineering.
They took my phone number and promised to get back with an answer. -
Can you take a picture of the other side of the crossover?"He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche

I'll pull the crossover out tonight after work.

Since they all share the same cabinet space, it may be difficult to hear the difference."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche -
Disassembly pictures. Starting from top driver and working down.

Pulling out the crossover. I have closer pictures of the back and pictures of all three sides. The component values and PCB traces seem to match the drawing. White and yellow to UD or Mid bass driver. There is zero slack between the binding posts and the PCB card and it is all soldered. I am pretty good with a solder iron, but it would be very difficult working with these short leads.:frown:
I may need to just visually look and answer questions if what we are looking for is not clear in the pictures. I was able to trace out the signal paths and find most of the components. -
Last crossover picture and a picture of the binding post and serial #.
