Help identify this speaker wire

A friend gave me this speaker wire. It's 16 18g wires braided. The bundle is about 1/2" in diameter. It's not hand wound, so I figure someone has run across it before and can comment on it. I was planning to do short 2 meter runs.

Looks like an old version of Kimber 8tc. They don't make the black and blue anymore. Very good stuff! Nice friend!

Interesting. I have a bunch of the black and grey 8 wire ones too. That's what I currently have on my SDA's. Leftovers from my Dahlquists. Guess I need to find some quality spades/bananas and some jacketing to dress it up.

    Thanks folks!

I bought some locking GLS spades with set screws. That's obviously not the best way to terminate wire like this. I suspect some type of crimp connector would work better.

Any thoughts on what might work best? Having 8 wires per side makes it interesting.

I gave it another shot and stripped the wire back about an inch so I could better twist all the pairs together. I put some heat shrink on to hold them. Then trimmed them shorter. That seemed to work, so I spent the last couple of hours finishing one 6' cable. My 18mm hs was shrunk to the limit. Need something a tad smaller, but it will do. I'll go ahead and do the other one with the materials I have on hand.

get some Xhadow bananas plugs for that cable,it deserves the good stuff. If there too expensive than I would recomend furez banana plugs. There pure copper or silver plated pure copper.
