I am looking for identical (or close to) replacement screw-in caps for binding posts like those in the pictures below. A couple are cracked and I would like to replace them. I tried Parts Express but they don't seem to have similar ones. Can someone point me in the right direction? Thanks.

What amp are they from?"They who can give up essential liberty to obtain a little temporary safety, deserve neither liberty nor safety."

They're from a DIY amp I bought used. The posts look similar to those on Rotel 10XX and Emotiva XPA series amps.

Thanks!
Funny, they don't seem to carry the ones I am looking for despite having a wide selection. They all have the full metal ones, but not the plastic encased ones I am looking for.
Any DIYer's out there know where I can find the ones I am looking for? -
Do they look like these? http://www.superetrade.com/images/Amplifiers/YAQIN/MC%2010L/big/10L-0027.JPG
Maybe one of the Eb*y sellers of these amps could tell you where to buy them, Tubestein perhaps.SDA SRS 2.3TL's

Yes, they look like those in your link. So what amps are these and who are the eb*y sellers? Can't find "tubestein" on eb*y. Do you have a link or perhaps search words? Thanks! -

Messiah,
Thanks for the links. Interesting ebusiness site. Has that eBay layout. The posts look similar to what I am looking for but in lots size, more than what I need. -
I've never seen the caps available by themselves. They're usually sold as a whole(binding post)."He who fights with monsters should look to it that he himself does not become a monster. And when you gaze long into an abyss the abyss also gazes into you." Friedrich Nietzsche
-
Face, if needed, I wouldn't mind buying the whole binding posts to get the caps. The other parts can come in handy later. So where have you seen them? Thanks.

Thanks for the link. These have that new clamping design where there's a notch and hole in the plastic cap. Was hoping to find some with that new design for consistency with the rest of my binding posts. $48 a post - maybe I should just live with my cracked caps for now. -
Thanks,Face! I saw those when I first checked PE but again they are the new design ones with the notch and hole for cramping spades and bare ended wires. $34.00 a pop have me rethinking. I may have to live with the cracked ones for a while. -
FYI, the plastic cover is only there to satisfy the European market requirements, it's not really needed and everyone of that type that I have seen crack over time. Therefore, any you replace now, will crack later.Political Correctness'.........defined

The WBT binding posts are covered with Makrolon. If you know anything about polycarbonate you might reconsider your statement that they all crack.HT/2 CH

Nice link, thanks. I got some of those for my amp at www.diycable.com on a closeout for $4 a pair. Very nice quality. When I went to order more they were sold out. Been looking for more ever since to put on the SDA's. -

I don't need or find any usefullness in having a plastic cap on my binding posts. WBT makes everything from mild to wild and that binder is simply unneccesary.CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

No, I know nothing about Makrolon. Why don't you tell us about it.
Previously I worked for a small European company called ABB http://www.abb.com where we used Makrolon as a personal safety barrier in our switchgear and transformers. Just because it was impossible to crack. I have also done demonstrations for customers with me, sledge hammer and a sheet of Makrolon. No you can not crack it. Further a small car maker called "Mercedes" use it in headlights because it does not crack. Maybe we were all wrong. Therefore, any you replace now, will crack later.HT/2 CH
