If the wrong person gets hold of a paper check, they have your account number and bank routing code. With this information, they can pretty easily empty your account these days. :frown:

On-line banking is much more secure than shuffling paper around.

I think its time for Arizona to get beach front property.

I can't believe Grijalva and Giffords are (likely) getting re-elected. The man called for a boycott of his own state.
The hunting issue (prop 109) didn't pass either...damn.
The rest is good news though.Source: Bluesound Node 2i - Preamp/DAC: Benchmark DAC2 DX - Amp: Parasound Halo A21 - Speakers: MartinLogan Motion 60XTi - Shop Rig: Yamaha A-S501 Integrated - Shop Spkrs: Elac Debut 2.0 B5.2 -

Don't be such a hater! I know its hard but just try not think about us so much and if you never visit, its kinda like we don't even exist."The good thing about science is that it's true whether or not you believe in it." Neil deGrasse Tyson. -
With nearly all rights come corresponding duties.. If you possess the right to vote, I argue that you have the duty to exercise it.
While perhaps the above is merely a philosophical point; apathy regarding our freedoms is the true enemy.

Or maybe carrier pigeon is more your speed?
As for the rest of it... absolute nonsense. Your opinion is completely based on either your poor assumptions about how things work, or a complete lack of understanding of news stories about identity theft.
And just because something is new and efficient doesn't make me lazy, it makes me intelligent enough to know what "encryption" is and how to weigh risks vs. rewards, rather than living in the past because I'm afraid of new things.
And yes I realize this is completely contrary to my original post about online voting, but that is a completely different set of logistical concerns, not necessarily security ones.
Relax man, Carrier pigeon ? Afraid of new things ? Living in the past ? LOL !!! I assure you,I am well aware of how things work and encryption. I read news stories all the time, and it seems to me that the stories regarding identity theft originate more from online use than check writers. GEEZ...maybe I should run out and buy that new 3d tv because I'm intelligent enough to know how much better it is and it's new technology. I'll hold on to my carrier pigeon 1080p plasma a tad bit longer because I'm intelligent enough to know the bugs haven't been worked out yet and risk verse rewards thing isn't there. Speaking of that, what exactly are the rewards to go online ? The cost of the checks ? The 10 minutes of time ? The...omg..stamps ? You probably spend more on your cell phone usage and more time tweeting. That risk verse rewards thing...I'm not seeing it.
Look, I didn't intend to go 10 rounds over this stupid subject. You made the comment, and eluded to that somehow you must be a moron if you still write checks. My preference, may not be yours and thats cool. For me though, I see it as a benefit to the banks, not the consumer as a whole, and while it may be more practical for some, I think the liability is greatly increased. Enough said.HT SYSTEM-

Meh, fair enough. Just remember that when you wrtie your check and mail it and wait 19 days for it to show up in your account, your bank scans it in and there's a digital copy on your online banking site, whether you choose to use it or not. MuhuhuahahahahaIf you will it, dude, it is no dream.

if you want to find the fastest, easiest way to do something, ask a lazy person to solve the problem. If you want to know the best way, ask an experienced person who's been doing it for a long time.

On the topic of voting, I want to change the rules for voting.
I want to be able to vote FOR or AGAINST each person running.
I want my voice heard that I do not want you in office.
This would drastically change campaigning, who is chosen to run, and what they do when they are in office.
For those wondering what happens when no one gets voted in because they are all voted against.........
Why would we want them if we vote AGAINST?
- new candidates - vote again. -
Guess what; I voted 'against'you. REPORTED!!

For what?I never had it like this where I grew up. But I send my kids here because the fact is you go to one of the best schools in the country: Rushmore. Now, for some of you it doesn't matter. You were born rich and you're going to stay rich. But here's my advice to the rest of you: Take dead aim on the rich boys. Get them in the crosshairs and take them down. Just remember, they can buy anything but they can't buy backbone. Don't let them forget it. Thank you.Herman Blume - Rushmore

Since you felt a need to quote me, please re-read what I said and kindly tell me where I said "most productive". Does anyone read stuff any more ?HT SYSTEM-
