I asked in June of 2009 when I did my Sonicap upgrad. It wouldn't hurt to ask again. Their manufacturing capability may have improved.
I requested pairs of Sonicaps matched as closely as possible to each other and to the nominal schematic values. The stock capacitors were 10% tolerance parts. Elliot at Sonic Craft called a couple of hours later and said that he was having trouble getting close to the 0.25 uF value and that if I wanted that value closely matched, it might delay my order. Elliot is the man who usually answers the phone when you call to order parts. He said that he had some 0.22 uF caps that were close to each other and asked if those would work. I agreed to take the 0.22 uF caps. My order was placed on Tuesday and I received my caps on Thursday.:)

Interesting stuff,it's a rarity to see an inductor in series with a tweeter.Since they are using four tweets I guess they needed to limit the bandwidth and or reduce the levels of T1,2 and 4 to combat the inevitable comb filtering that would occur between them. With more than 9 ohms of series resistance and the .7 mh coil rolling off a big portion of the T4's top end it can't be contributing much to the overall output.

I believe it done for power handling.

Having multiple tweets will improve power handling but I was refering to the series coils.I would think things would get rather messy if all four operated over identical ranges.

    DK,
Have you already purchased the 1.0mH and 2.0mH inductors from north creek and just haven't implemented them yet or will this be a project for another time. Curious to see what your ears tell you once you get them swapped out. Do you have a price for those inductors as well?

Just got off the phone with NorthCreek and my Inductors will ship out next week...

He said he has received a bunch of orders for the Polk upgrades, I told him he can thank two people from the fourm for that...

The 1 mH and 2 mH inductors were tried and returned. Read about it here. The prices for the 1 and 2 mH inductors were $27.77 and $47.69.

    Mine too...for my SRS's!

And to think my first North Creek inductor order was 3 years ago, I feel old and finally justified since it was said to be a useless upgrade. Not by folks on this forum per se, moreso elsewhere as xover upgrades really didn't take off until recently in many places. I hope this forum had something to do with that....and bet it does without a doubt.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.

I placed an order yesterday. The inductors should be here this week according to NC. Now I have a number of projects I have to complete for my SRS 1.2TLs...
    MyeSound Points and Pads
    BlackHole 5 Damping
    Inductor Modification

I am thinking of redoing the PCB Board. There is alot of work involved with building the board layout. I see this going into a next year project.

With Christmas coming, when will I have the time to do it?

Yes, I've gotten hooked on the upgrade bug for my SRS also. I got the North Creek inductors in today. Hey,,, no one here in the forum owns stock in North Creek do they???

I've got a bunch of work in front of me, maybe try to take an extra day or 2 off at Christmas - caps, resistors, inductors, rings, tweeters, Dynamat.... Oh -speaking of rings that I also just got in, as has been stated many times in the forum, they are VERY nice. I think like in true NHRA fashion where they plaster stickers all over the car as to the manufacturer of the pistons, cam, ignition, etc., Larry should make a sticker that comes with the ring set to stick somewhere on the speaker - 'Rings by Larry'.
SDA SRS modded: X’ovrd, de-polyed, inductorized, interconnectorized, re-posted, dynamited, RDO’d, spiked, gasketed, ringed (Larry's), and grill cloth blinged! Done this on my own? Not a chance. Thanks to Raife and all who forged easy to follow upgrades. At least a 100% improvement in sound and my personal listening pleasure! :cheesygrin:Pass XP-10 preamp, Parasound A21 amp, Pioneer Elite DV-58AV (Ric Shultz modded), Audioquest Sky IC's, No longer need my Sunfire sub after mods...

I think Larry, Raife, and Ben should have their own theme....
The Intel Theme comes to mind.
