Today was a total waste...they scheduled the second procedure first and it was absolutely horrible.....I can deal with that...then they overbooked the second procedure so they wheeled me down @ 2:30 and waited till 5 to tell me they couldn't do it until 10 tomorrow morning (provided they dont overbook again). Seriously pissed because I basically have had 2 meals since Wednesday of last week and haven't been able to drink anything either..On top of that my wife has been taking unpaid leave to be here in addition to us racking up more days in the hospital due to their incompetence....

I just want a **** hot shower, some good food and sleep.....I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me, but I dont always understand his timing

Any happy thoughts sent my way would be appreciated..prayers doubly so..

I can relate to your impatience / frustration as I spent a full month in hospital in feb. this year and went through that kind of routine but disneyjoe right, it will be over before you realize it. Keeping you in my prayers

On a good note, the wife reports that the dogs havent messed in their cages which they have been in for around 13 hours a day for the past week.

Now to try and relax a bit, my arms look like I spent a week shooting up heroine lol....

LOL  I can relate to this also, depending how long your stay is and how long the needle stabbing will be, maybe an option could be the inserion of a tube for all the blood samples and intravenous feeding??

Keep the faith, still praying for you

Hoping it doesn't get down to the intravenous feeding, but if it does it does.....

Well we have had blood every 4 hours since Thurs, my veins tend to roll so normally at least 2 sticks per blooddraw, 3 different IV sites, and 4 sticks yesterday for my procedure...

So a minimum would be 6 sticks a day from Friday until Sunday (18), 2 today so far, 2 Thurs night, 3 of the Iv's and 4 for my lasts procedure

    =

drumrollll please............26. I think that qualifies me for some sort of club....like N/A (Needles Anonymous).

Wife and I have greatly appreciate the words and prayers from you guys so far. Here's me adding in my own for my test today.

Either way they are telling me supposedly I can eat afterward...so once I get out I am gonna order a buttload of french toast, like 5 servings lol...Give myself a massive stomach ache for all I care lol...

Only thing that sucks is basically there is no way for me to do my duty and vote today, and after 10 I technically shouldn't (if I am out see if it stops me though ;)) due to the anesthesia.

Put some prayers out for the wife as well, shes got a big test today for a new job shes applied for as a lease consultant with one of the apartment communities in town (same one we rent from). If she gets it we are looking at a 1 dollar raise minimum to 11.50 an hour + 20% off rent which is about 160. The hours are better, its closer to our house and she really needs this change.

Working for the state of Indiana in the child support division has really taken it out of her. She only sees the worst in folks since she is who they call when the state takes all their money from a lawsuit settlement, taxes, lottery winnings (if/when that happens) to pay back support....so you can imagine how much she enjoys that.....

Switching subjects again I thought I would share some verse's that have been a help for me as of late:

"For I know the plans I have for you, says the Lord, they are plans for good, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope." Jeremiah 29:11

"God Works All Things Together. And we know God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called according to His purpose for them." Romans 8:28

"So you shall serve the Lord your God, and He will bless your bread and your water. And I will take sickness away from the midst of you." Exodus 23:25

"But I will restore you to health and heal your wounds," declares the LORD. Jeremiah 30:17

there are many more, but those are just a few I thought worth sharing.

Thats what going to a Childrens Hospital like Riley's for years will do as well. Gives one a very different perspective. I have a uncurable lifelong disease, but it can be managed. So when folks are like "Man it must suck to have Crohn's", my mind flashes to the nameless kids I saw for years dying of Cancer at the age of 10 0r 11.

"Living with, not dying from," is how I try to view things. But at this point we just are hoping to figure out where all this bleeding came from and either get rid of the part it came from, find out if its healing, etc. Lots of possible scary options are out there, but I am not worried.

Good Book defiantly helps with the perspective as well.

Got back from the test...they couldn't get high enough to see if its infection or Crohn's....

That and somehow they still were not able to see 70% of the colon despite the massive amount of prep...

So they tattooed the spot they got to from below, so I got my first tattoo lol....

Might have another test from above to see if they can get low enough from above to biopsy the stuff to ensure its not infected...

So for right now no food but I am ok with it right now since I am a little high still from the meds....

And as a serious question for you guys, how much does compression matter on MP3's? Do you want to record off the CD @ 320, 128, etc? Also where do you prefer to buy MP3's from online? I dont use ITunes only Windows Media Player (Since I have a Zune) so I have been going mostly with Amazon...is that good, bad or doesnt matter?

For converting my CD's I have been doing Windows Media format @ 320 sample rate and then my Zune down samples a copy to 192 (saves space since otherwise I would have 16 gigs of music rather than 8). Since I mostly listen to that in my car, through headphones and occasionally through my receiver downstairs is that a good choice orshould I be going lower than that?

So they are just assuming its the Crohn's so I get to go home tomorrow if nothing else crazy happens....Back on 40mg of Predinisone tapering down 10mg a week. Taking a double does of Humira and then back to either weekly or bi-weekly shots.

Have to follow up with my Dr in a week or so to find out the rest.....

But here is the big news: I CAN EAT FOOD!!!! So on order is a double order of French Toast, Bacon, and an English Muffin coming...I can order until the place closes @ 7:30 so I am taking FULL advantage of it.

Then perhaps I might hit up Fat Dan's in Broadripple sometime this weekend.......

Food sounds soooo goooood right now!!!

''Faith will set you free'' as your attitude most always determines how high you can go (the end result) and you have been doing great for that matter (just keep Job in mind). Stay the course with the positive attitude, your faith and don't forget to follow your doctor's orders:wink:

Carefull with the heating, the mind wants it but the body might simply reject any abuse. When I got out of the hospital, all I wanted is a good meal but in fact it took me a while before I could start eating normal meals. In fact in was a blessing for me as I am a lot more concious of my eating which is much healtier for. I lost about 30 pounds while in hospital, I was worried about regaining it but in fact I've been pretty stable since.

My prayers are still with you and your family

Trust me, Job is my favorite book. We had a missionary that was in Pakistan for 30 years that gave a sermon one time. He said it took him many many years, but he learned to Thank God for everything, good or bad.

I have worked hard to attempt to have that attitude. Though I may not understand it I thank him that I am still alive, still healthy and able to enjoy the forums. :)

Trust me I threw down a lot of French Toast, some bacon and an English Muffin. I ordered more (because they close @ 7:30) but prob wont it eat for a couple more hours. They have a microwave so they can reheat.

In my case I cant lose any more weight because I am already waaay to skinny (6'1 & right now around 130lbs) so I need to gain the weight. Crohns has a way to make you eat healthy since most of the greasy food doesnt agree with you so you dont get to digest all the bad stuff...

    Glad your health has improved.

So I am on a total exstatic high for my wife right now. I am so proud of all the work and pain she has gone through to get these two jobs. We are talking like 100+ resumes out there and finally got a response.

On top of all that as of now, no massive bleeding ulcers or the like. Do have to follow up with my GI Dr. later this month to see what the new game plan is.

So Nooshin, looks like I am road-trip ready whenever your tube amps are done. Those things look like a real work of art with the time and attention to detail. I especially like the font you used (or whoever handwrote the labels)

Well I got sick on Wends night (I get sick all the time w/ Crohn's disease). Got sick on Thurs and went home..then lets just say I started losing lots and lots of blood from places you are not supposed to for about 2 days. Due to the coloration it was from deep inside my intestines. After being "photographed" and "videotaped" in just about every screwed up way possible they cant find where the bleeding came from. So the hope is that either it was a Ulcer or Tear that has healed already, or just my active Crohn's which we can hopefully just manage better.

I just switched meds 2 months ago since I have been in what is called a "flair" state for about 2 years (basically imagine eating nothing but carbs and very rarely chicken). New med works but we might need a higher dose than I was getting (reason I had to switch was the old med couldnt be given any higher without likely liver failure).

So basically we are all praying whatever it was wont pop up again here shortly when my new med kick back in.

As a result of the meds I will be on for life I am much much much more susceptible for infections, and getting sick. Since my meds basically handicap my immune system I get sick quicker, faster and much worse than the normal person.

It is not unlikely I will at some point lose parts of my insides, but at this point I have them all and dont wanna give any up ;).

My post per day should theoretically drop and might make a little more sense (I said might )

Apparently it takes rocket scientists to sign their name on a piece of paper and fill it out properly.....

So at first they didnt fill all of it out, then the did and signed it but forgot to make some changes they wanted, then they put the changes on wrong, then they added the wrong meds, and then they listed my activities as "none" (as in I cant do anything)....

If you see a crazy story on the news in Indy about a patient in a hospital going bonkers....you know what happened
