I did my second set of SDA's last night....this time to my TL'd 2B's and everything went very smoothly. Just my 2.3Tl's are left to be done....but this was the answer we all needed to chat about.

Now that I have magical TFLF Rings waiting to be installed, I kinda wish I hadn't karma'd a couple dozen stock gaskets 2 years ago when I decided Mortite was magic.

I wonder if it's bad karma to want to un-karma a karma?

After several weeks of re-doing the rings with the blue loctite they are still tight.

    I strongly suggest using it.

Once you've super-glued (the active ingredient in the Loctite products is the same or similar to what is in "super glue"--cyanoacrylate/dimethacrylate) the screws to the nuts, HOW can you tell that they're still "tight" and not just "locked in place"?

You have a soft joint (squishy gasket (or worse, caulking) on top of particle board holding a thin sheetmetal driver basket) so of course it's going to take a while for it to "set" and become a stable joint.

First guess: The screws are NOT "loosening". The joint is compressing, and no amount of locking compound will change that. Once you do install the threadlocking compound, there is NO MORE checking for loose screws without destroying the thread bond.

    Makes sense to me.

I did the mortite about 6 months before installing the rings. Mortite stayed with the drivers and passives when I took them out. Rings have been in 2 months. Ain't nothing moving
