Finale definitely had a different feel to it, which I don't mind.

But question (maybe spoilers), nothing was said about the guy and his kid from the first episode, were they mentioned in an episode before and I missed it? If not I'm shocked they would leave that completely out, maybe to push people for a second season or something

It was mentioned before they got to the cvc or whatever it was called. He tried to radio to him two times but never heard back from them.

That's cool man. It's been a great series so far, it would really suck to miss out on it just because your overseas.

Agreed...but they can't over-do the zombies, or the whole series will get real boring real fast.

I think it added a nice bit of hopelessness. No more infrastructure, or people working on a cure. The only other seemingly ignored item was the helicopter he saw when he first rode into Atlanta. I'm just wondering when that will pop back up.

Enjoyed the first season, can't wait for next.

My only issue is why didn't anyone ask, or should I say why didn't the show tell us, how did this all start? They were right there in the CDC and no one asked how this all started?

I mean the main character wakes from a coma and finds the world in disarray, filled with zombies. He never bothers to ask anyone what the hell happened?

Maybe they are waiting to tell us next season.

By the way, the black guy with the kid in the first episode also played on the show Jericho. That was another good show, sadly ended before its time.

Anyone have any theories as to what the doctor whispered to Rick? Did he tell him about Shane attempting to rape his wife? Or maybe she was pregnant? Possibly that everyone in the group was infected?

I was kind of expecting Merle to make an reappearance, but I guess we'll have to wait until next season.

Whatever it was, I think it was something that was too depressing/scary for anyone except their leader to hear. Some kind of somber warning possibly. I don't think it was anything that personal though. That had me intrigued as well!

There were a lot of things that were left unanswered. Some from the top of my head...What happened to the father and son (as I mentioned earlier), where did that helicopter come from, what happened to the guy on the roof...

I still have my doubts about the scientist, as it always bothered me he was all by himself. I just didn't trust a word he said, we will see next season

Loved the ending. One day they think they're on Noah's Ark with hot running water, food, beds, and shelter and on the next the place blows up and they're back to running for their lives.

All very good ideas that would make the second season more intense. All could be great especially since the Dr. took blood samples from all. I'm definitely looking forward to the next. Great job on the 1st.

I think the surviving sister is infected. She was covered in her sister's blood for a long time.

And if you notice, when rick asked the doctor about the test results, the doctor said "no surprises." He did NOT say that they were all clean.

I'd be worried about mosquitoes if I was ever in their situation. I never really thought about the whole gun shot sounds attract zombies thing. I'm going to have to completely rethink my zombie outbreak plan of action. Guess I'll have to find a silencer for my socom m1a.

Oh well, the plan is still get on a plane to Alaska. It'll be a lot easier to kill zombies when theyre frozen.

    Looking forward to next season.

Has anyone compared the series to the comic book series? I'm just wondering whether the writers were taking liberities with the plot. I hope the series doesn't go downhill after this spectacular season

If they bring in new writers, a new director and a new cast, I might give it another try. Otherwise, it's a bad soap opera with zombies.

Don't get me wrong... I absoulutely love the series. However, there IS a lot they can improve upon. Unlike the books, I'm having a hard time sympathizing with a vast majority of the characters. Since this is ultimately a character study, this could prove to be a fatal flaw if not remedied in the second season.
