I come to you with happiness, joy, sadness, emotions that cannot be described.

In 2001 my Dad introduced me to the world of music and audio. I purchased a JVC Shelf System. It was just not enough.

Shortly after I acquired some Polk RT35i and a Sony receiver, long story short - I have been through countless gear, drove countless miles, listened to anything that could peak my interest.

Finding every last bit I could possibly upgrade.

I come to you now - with glee that I have built, hands down the best system I have heard to date.

The sound I am hearing is what I have wanted to hear for almost my entire audio adventure.

I have to give a huge shout to Zero (Sean) as he first recommended Tyler Acoustics and Odyssey for my sound traits and I have loved the combo ever since. And I have to give a huge shout to Face (Mike) for taking my gear and giving me the knowledge to take it to a whole new plateau of amazing.

I have heard no better and can no longer think of any improvements I would make.

It is hard to explain, but I can't express enough just how awesome it is to sit back and realize I am hearing MUSIC at its best, its worst, whatever it is meant to be heard - I feel confident that I have recreated it adequately.

Thank you everyone for countless hours of advice, verbal beatings, life lessons - it is appreciated beyond comprehension.

Thank you again everyone!

This is Trey, signing out to finally sit down and ENJOY music for real this time. :-)

I will not say I am done...

The only way I can better myself is monstrous monstrous amounts of money and prayer...

The only thing I can remember hearing that I would consider "better/different" is the Wilson Alexandria... that was definitely a good system...

Honestly what took this system there were those resistors and caps. All the difference in the world. Those Clarity MR caps contain some type of magic looking to bewitch a willing soul... and those duelund resistors are not far behind.

So you have reached nirvana and will no longer seek a better sound? What if you hear something better? will you have to have have it?

In my entire journey, I have heard no better.

So I don't know how to respond. Perhaps, maybe not. Who knows?

Concentrate on bills and debts for right now. As long as you are enjoying your music, put the money towards other things. I've had the same system for ~4 years. I've only just been playing around since PolkFest because I bought $100 worth of gear and have been swapping around. You don't have to go anywhere unless you want to. For the 4 years leading up to this Polkfest, I kept the exact same system and never felt the need to upgrade.

And, I still didn't feel the need to... I just saw some cool vintage gear come up from George for a decent price, all benefiting Githens, so I jumped on it... and man am I ever glad I did. But that's besides the point. I could've just cruised through and not spent anything and been as happy as before.

So go ahead... take a break... concentrate on other things, but KEEP ENJOYING THE MUSIC.

SACD is over-rated. I have heard it on multiple ocasions and a great redbook player has been equal to my ears. YMMV

    Thanks for all the comments/luck!

Interesting comment. Granted, there is a bit of subjectivity to this hobby, but I would argue a well recorded SACD will beat a well recorded CD in sound quality. Assuming all other parts in the chain being equal.

Anyway, congratulations on reeaching nirvana. I feel the same way now that I have tweaked the Hades out of my current setup. Of course, I realize this is merely a break point on the journey.

I have heard a handful of CD players some claim to sound like "Vinyl" - which one can argue is better than SACD.

So one can argue that a CD, in an awesome CD player can sound as good if not better than say a normal SACD player.

Now granted if I were to buy a SACD player of comparable quality to my CD player we might be getting somewhere.

    Unfortunately SACD is dead... lol

The Symphonic is pretty freakin high definition to me... :)

I buy brand new SACD's all the time. I just picked up 6 of them in the last couple of weeks.

Mofi has been my friend this last year for Vinyl and SACD.

It's far from dead but I'm glad your happy with your setup, just looking at your sig makes me drool!!!

It's nice Trey, to sit back and just enjoy the tunes for awhile, concentrate on other things. That is untill a wad of cash starts burning a hole in your pocket.
From my experience, I can be happy with things, all hunky dory, then one day you wake up, stuff just doesn't sound the same. Your hearing changes over the years young grasshopper, thus so will your system, but untill then, rock the house.

Moving up the amplifier chain to something like Pass Labs or equivalent would most likely be an improvement and it's not a monstrous amount of money. Odyssey stuff is certainly very nice, but if someday you kick it up a notch in the amplifier dept., you will be amazed at the difference.

All that being said (ball busting a little bit) you have assembled an awesome system so you deserve to just enjoy it for awhile. But you should by no means be done. :)
