I just received a new set of the Monitor 70s from Newegg. Great price. I have not detailed sound evalutaion, but they seem OK.

I was surprised that when I poked my finger through the front port, I could not detect any sound absorbing lining in the interior of the cabinet. The TSi 400 I examined at Best Buy clearly showed such material in the inside when viewed through the bottom port.

Is the M70 not internally damped at all?

Thank you.

It's just in a different spot. Remove a driver and I bet you find it inside, against the sidewall, around the port.
CTC BBQ Amplifier, Sonic Frontiers Line3 Pre-Amplifier and Wadia 581 SACD player. Speakers? Always changing but for now, Mission Argonauts I picked up for $50 bucks, mint.
