MY SETUP SUX?! =/ do i need a sub or are the a7's enought wit 200wpc?! i mean they sound nice they punch nicely! but would the sub make a diffrence?!
Say a VTF3. MK3?! or sumthing like tht?! Or maybe if i get the emotiva xpa2 wuld it be hitting harder?! im gettin a good deal on the xpa2!! >=] shuld i pull the trigger ?! 300 for it! =O

    Considering your sig says you have an XPA3, stepping up to an XPA2 (for 100watts more) wouldn't be much of an upgrade IMO.

    If you want a better amp, why not dump the XPA2 idea and sell the XPA3 and get an even better amp?

    A sub will make a hell of a difference, especially for HT. Depends what your needs are really and the budget.

    Will it be even 50/50 split between music/movies?

    What's the efficiency rating on the A7's? Is your focus mainly movies?

    A sub should help. How old are your speakers? Maybe they are still breaking in.

    I agree with the uselessness of the XPA3 in the OP's situation as you need to at least double the power wattage to gain a 3db.

    As far as the subwoofer, IMHO the only gain would be for HT use but not too significant for music unless the speakers are not bass capable. As long as a quality speaker can go down to at least 40hz, a subwoofer is simply luxury and therefore not a justified expense and of course not a good bang for the buck.
