Weak channel in surround

After more analysis, it seems clear that the problem I was having with speaker volume is with the channel. In the white noise level setting, the weak sound follows the Right Rear output. I can compensate...but with about a 2 db boost over the Left Rear.
Is this more likely to be a weak amp channel or in the processor? It's not the DVD/BR since it occurs in the white noise test.
Thanks...I need to know what to take to my tech dude...maybe both??

Mike, try swapping the Left and Right on the rears, it was the rears, right? See if it follows the amp or the pro.

I cannot tell you how confused I got when I swapped rear outputs on the pre/pro....the weak sound did follow the right rear channel (which was now sent to left rear speaker)....
so now, if I leave pre/pro alone, and switch left and right rear inputs on amp....I have proven??? OK....I think I got it.....will try in a.m. after good night's sleep....
