I was watching IP man 2 the other day with LSI-15 and I turned the AVR up to -5db. I listen to music from -45 to -35 db and I won't watch movies below -10 db from now on. Is there a chance I damaged my speaker ?

You mean above -10dB? Your hearing will be damaged as I said before.

The tweeters and crossover can be damaged first if the amp starts to clip at high levels.
If you run it at sustained high levels, the amp could fail prematurely. The XPA-2 is quite robust, but there are limits.
You can also melt the crossover, as I have done, without damaging the drivers. To the OP, are you experiencing any problems with the speakers? The Gear... -5 DB for music is extremely loud and I've never went past -20db. But for movies IMO -5 DB is loud but not as extreme as one would imagine.Speaker: LSi 15

If you are not experiencing troubles, then don't sweat it. Everything should be just fine. The Gear... These numbers on an AVR, -5, +10, etc. mean nothing. They are like Spinal Tap amps going to 11. You need an SPL meter to correlate the sound level to the AVR setting.Lumin X1 file player, Westminster Labs interconnect cable
Sony XA-5400ES SACD; Pass XP-22 pre; X600.5 amps
Magico S5 MKII Mcast Rose speakers; SPOD spikes
Shunyata Triton v3/Typhon QR on source, Denali 2000 (2) on amps
Shunyata Sigma XLR analog ICs, Sigma speaker cables
Shunyata Sigma HC (2), Sigma Analog, Sigma Digital, Z Anaconda (3) power cables
Mapleshade Samson V.3 four shelf solid maple rack, Micropoint brass footers
Three 20 amp circuits. -

+1
I have recordings that are so quiet that I have to really crank it just to get 75db. -

I agree....They mean nothing. Just a point of reference that I don't even pay attention too. I adjust the volume to the level that I like to hear, not what -db is showing.Sunfire TGP, Sunfire Cinema Grand, Sunfire 300~2 (2), Sunfire True Sub (2),Carver ALS Platinum, Carver AL III, TFM-55, C-19, C-9, TX-8, SDA-490t, SDA-390t -
The -x db rating is only for dolby digital anyway - it has no meaning in the analog realm. Turn it up to what you like.
If you start to hear any distortion or if your soundfield starts to collapse - turn it down. If you think you hear distortion but are not sure - turn it down. LSi's can play pretty loud, but they are not anyones definition of a good party speaker.
If quality is your thing, LSi's are all over it. If SPL is what you are going for there, are quite a few options fot that as well, but LSi's are really not your best choice.
