LSi System Setup

OK, I have a complete compliment of LSi speakers. Here is the list:

2 x LSi9
2 x LSi7
1 x LSiC

and on their way to me...

2 x LSIFX

My system is currently setup as a 5.1 system with the LSI9's as fronts, obviously the LSiC is the center, and the LSi7's handle surround duty.

I have 2 questions...

First, I have a Parasound HCA-2205A amp running all of my current LSi's. I have a couple options here... I just purchased an Onkyo TX-NR808 and the amps in it are supposed to be 4 ohm stable so...

1.) Run LSi9's, LSiC, and LSi7's on Parasound and LSiFX's on Onkyo
2.) Run LSi9's, LSiC, and LSiFX's on Parasound and LSi7's on Onkyo
3.) Install Crown XLS 802D (Already Owned) for LSi9's and run everything else on the Parasound

I am leaning towards option 2...

I am currently running a set of Monitor 70's on an XLS 802D and it works quite well. I know it is overkill, but it really makes the Monitor 70's sing and definitely fills out the bottom end.

Second question is, where should I place the LSiFX's and LSi7's.

1.) LSiFX's as Surrounds (Side), and LSi7's as surround back
2.) LSi7's as Surrounds (Side), and LSiFX's as surround back

Here I am a little less decided, but I am leaning towards option 1 here...

Thanks to everyone in advance!

I can't help you with question one, but I definitely agree with going with your LSIFX's for surrounds and Lsi7's for surround back.

Any other thoughts? I also have an opportunity to pickup another set of LSiFX speakers. Should I be looking at those for both surround channels and move the LSi7's to a 2 channel system or the like?

Just some thoughts... Any other ideas?

How about a drawing or description of your room, with measurements, seating position, and potential positions for your speakers? Personally, I like my FXi speakers on the sides. I tried them in the back, but didn't care for the effect from the back.

See.... Right now my "room" is horrible :D I am using one corner of my basement that is roughly 15x20 I would say. But the room is probably 30x40. It is about the worst possible environment, but.... it is what I have until we move.

I personally prefer Bipoles for surrounds so I would, plus it's always nice to have a separate 2ch system too.

    Bernal,

Could you elaborate a little on this for me. I agree in regards to question 1. But question 2 I am interested in your opinion in a little more detail.

    Thanks!!!

Also, I ended up buying another set of FLAWLESS Cherry LSi9's, so I am going to use those in a 2 channel system and leave the LSi7's in the home theater.

OK, First off. I tried the XLS 802D on the LSi9's... NOT IMPRESSED. They sounded thin and seemed to almost "flop" around. The amp did not control these well at all. I did try a Crown XTI 2000 I had laying around and it performed much better, but still doesn't seem to keep up with my Parasound...

    So.... In light of that...

    I just picked up a Parasound HCA-1200MKII and a HCA-1500a.

    Here is my new question!

Which of these amps should I use along side the Parasound 2205a and what place does it have in my system? Should I use it to drive the fronts, surrounds?

    Thanks again for everyone's input!!!

Also, I have a line on a possible Parasound HCA-2200ii. If I get that, all my amplifier problems are solved :D
