Polk Surround Bar 3000 Buzzing

Setup everything earlier today including new plasma tv, BR 3d player and sound bar.
Over the past 20 minutes I have noticed a light buzzing noise coming through the bar.
The wireless sub is about 2ft from the bar and plugged into the wall while the sound bar is plugged into a surge protector.
What can I do if anything to omit this noise?

Hello,
Can you describe how the SB is connected to the rest of the AV system? How are you getting the signal to the SB?
Regards, Ken -

Try plugging the SB power supply directly into a wall outlet, bypassing the surge protector. If that doesn't change the buzzing try removing the HDMI cable from your source to the SB.
Also, do you have any wireless devices in the same general area? If so, try unplugging them as a test to see if that is the cause.
If none of these tests reduce the buzzing give CS a call on Monday, 1-800-377-7655 and ask for Kyle.

Ok I will I also have a bigger problem, wether we use the polk remote or our universal remote, you have to fight this thing to volume up and volume down. I might of messed that up when I tried to program the samsung volume remote into the bar. But I have reset the bar by turning the switch in the back off than on. My father says if we can not get it working right it's going back. Will call tomorrow.HT setup

Kyle should be able to help with both situations.

I'm having the same issue concerning the humming without any real answers after searching the net. I got the Polk SurroundBar 3000 IHT 3 days ago (2-4-11) off Amazon. My setup is pretty much how they suggest out of the box. It's plugged into an APC Battery Surge Protector with the optical audio cord going from the speaker straight into the tv (Samsung 40" LCD 1080P). I get normal sound but even at the most basic of volume levels, there's a constant hum that gets annoying and of course the more I increase the volume, the louder the hum gets. If I turn the volume of the tv itself up, I get the expected echo so of course that won’t do.
I saw on another page where a guy offered this :
"The Surround Bar 3000 must be given 2 channel (stereo) signal via PCM signal to operate. This means that some televisions/cable/sat boxes only carry Dolby digital signal (5.1) signal out via HDMI or Digital Optical. To properly integrate with the Surround Bar 3000 you would need to stop by your local electronics retailer and pick up a Stereo RCA to 1/8" cable (http://www.radioshack.com/product/in...ductId=3909621). This would allow you to make a direct connection from the cable/sat boxes' analog output directly to source 2 or 3 on the back of the Surround Bar."
I tried this with no luck. Even using that cable gives off a hum but I'd also hate to dumb-down my sound by eliminating the optical audio option. Everything is pretty separated, meaning none of my wires are touching or grounding each other out and the Sub is sitting off to the side powered by the same APC Battery Surge Protector but the Sub doesn’t give me any issues. The only other things that are plugged into the tv are my XBOX 360 (HDMI), PS3 (HDMI) and HD TiVo box (HD Component Cable since my tv only has 2 HDMI outputs). The speaker is nice and I feel like once I get rid of this hum, it’ll be a perfect addition. I’d hate to have to return it but I’m also not going to “settle” for the annoyance. I’m all ears on a simple fix. Thanks. -
Speakers look and sound great. My issues are the echo (in and out of sync slightly with tv speaker) and remote loses its sync (sometimes it turns tv and SB at same time which is good, other times just the tv,,,bad). This happens almost every time the remote is picked up. I am using the optical hook up with a Samsung plasma 50". Please let me know if there is a solution very soon as I will take the product back to BestBuy in another day or so if I don't hear back from the mod. Thank you.

We have still been having trouble with our center bar. Even with taking it back twice and trying 3 different remotes. It is very very very frustrating turning the volume up and down. You literally have to keep moving your hand around to get it to grab the signal. It is at 3 ft from the floor at a little lover than sitting height.
What is going on with these? My father is getting ready to thrown it out!!HT setup
