Denon DVD-2900 wont play surround music

I've had a Denon DVD-2900 Universal player for about 5 years and havent used for much other than high res music. However, I've noticed a problem recently. It seems to have a problem playing surround sound on some DVD-Audio discs. I havent noticed the problem on SACD's either. It plays surround on some DVD-A discs just fine but others it just locks up. Any idea what might be going on? Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

have you tried cleaning the optics?

Thanks for the suggestions guys! I was thinking of maybe buying a DVD cleaning disc and doing that first. Does this seem like the best way to go?

I'm not saying it's your issue but I've seen two of them now with bad connections on the RCA's on the rear of the unit.
Next time you use it you might try moving the cables in the rear and see if they come back in for you.

There is no download for my model that I can find and the cleaner disc didnt work. Guess it needs to be serviced, which is a bummer cause I really havent used it very much at all, especially recently. I really only use it for playing high res stuff. What a bummer!
