Mark and Russ

As many know, Polkfest was this weekend. It was a terrific event and my thanks to Lou and all who contributed to making it memorable.

Sometimes I’m slow to see things but this weekend I was reminded how important, respected and loved Mark (dorokusai) is as a member of the community and that I am doing him no favors by asking him to be a moderator. The same goes for Russ (russman). Although I greatly appreciate their help and dedication as moderators, I think CP is far richer by having Russ and Mark contribute in their own inimitable ways.

After discussing my thoughts with both, I am freeing them from the burden of moderation to participate as they used to and we all have missed.

So Mark and Russ, welcome back to the fray. Try not to get banned by Ken.

    Good guys and good Polkies with great tradition here. Maybe a little too close to the core crowd to impartially "moderate" some stuff here so maybe this is a positive move. Best wishes in their new endeavors - good luck to Mark and Russ.

    Shawn - Don't sweat it, Ricardo is a very good friend to both of us.

    I'm relieved to say the least when we started talking about this a few weeks ago. At least a couple of you can simply go back to disliking us for who we were before being moderators. I hated moderating and contrary to what you guys think, it isn't even what my job is for Polk but oh well....it's over now. Whew. Thanks for the kind words F1Nut, Conradicles, Polkatese and WZ, its been real and I'm looking forward to being regular again.

    Ken Swauger is the most balanced guy I've met in my travels but be careful folks, even core members as he's not as.....well, let's just say everyone should continue to help in keeping our forum active, friendly and the wealth of information that it is. He will do a wonderful job moderating.

    Nobody really knows, not even Polk Audio. They are kinda like the Sector 7 of polk.

    Several years ago, I decided that Polk needed better visibility and some representation of our interests on the other audio bulletin boards and several retail sites. Short of staff to do it from the inside, I approached Mark and Russ about handling this for me on a limited part-time basis. All on the up and up, you've surely seen them elsewhere and they identify themselves as Polk representatives.

    I asked them as a favor to help moderate CP when it stated snowballing out of control. Knock on wood, CP seems to have stabilized in no small part because many of you stepped up to help lower the temperature and call out or ignore the trolls. For that, I thank you all. And again, I sincerely thank Mark and Russ for their help in pulling in the reins.
