BAF, I'd put up a pair of RealTraps HF (High Frequency) Mini traps directly behind the speakers mounted 4 inches off the wall. If not the RT brand, find a trap that does not have a solid backing but still mount it 4 inches off the wall. The ML's rear wave has to be dealt with and the HF's are a great first step.

It is actually more blue than violet when it dries and you see it in person. Blends very well with the room.

Slick, and I like your go-get em attitude in painting it yourself considering you live at home and all.

The crates under the tv are temporary right :)

Also have to still get rid of some stuff too clear the room out.

Thank you for the go get em attitude I am like that and you have to be a lot of time in todays world.

LOL well I would but projectors are not really something I would want to use everyday. Maybe a few years down the road but not right now.

Well the rule in this house is, if your going to college no rent payment, and with my parents proud of me and how I am doing in college they do not mind.

I can live with that, that's our rule too.

But......If you're going to college, you should know the difference between your and you're. ;)

OK, just consider that the bang for your buck is much greater with a projector.

So I am thinking of putting my system over where my bed is and put the bed and all on the side the system is now.

Should I do this for a flatter wall and no little corner on that side like there is now?

I think flipping the room is an excellent idea. The flat wall behind the ML is one less refection you have to deal with. The roof line can be dealt with, but not as easily or as cheaply as flipping the room.

If you can, I'd set them up on the longest, flattest (right angles only) wall you have.

For the window, go to Lowes/HD and get pleated, room darkening blind. It has the benefit of knocking down some reflection off the glass and helps while watching a movie.

It will take a bit of time, but start with your speaks positioned as you have them now and gradually move them further apart until the center image falls apart. Doing this will allow you to find the ML sweetspot which will be very precise (attach vice to couch to hold head!) Try and keep them 2-3 foot from the right and left walls, but I'm certain you've read that already!!

    Gordon

Do you really need that much couch? IF you have friends over for movies or gaming I can see it. If most of the time your there alone, try and eliminate the corner piece if you can.

Paint looks good BigA. I would hang that screen though if it's possible. Little cable management, cover that window with some nice blinds. Home depot can sell you something for cheap and make the room look nice. If your going to be in it, may as well make it look like something special. Good work, nice speaks too man.

Thanks, right now I am trying to get a sat box up here. Of course it is going to be hard to get a cable up here but I think I can do it where the phone line comes upstairs. Next after that is getting my amp than getting a ML sub or something.

Why did you get rid of the tube amp you bought ? Did it not sound great with the Martin Logans? Are you just using the pioneer with the logans currently ?

If you ever get a chance try have a listen to an onkyo receiver with them logans as its very neutral in its tone and a perfect match for SQ
