Hey all
One of my tweeters sounds muffled and not as clear as the other. Is it in need of replacing? Not sure what to do.

No wonder it sounds muffled, it's missing one of the zeros.
What model speaker?Political Correctness'.........defined

Check your speaker wire connections first before ripping out the tweet. Also play that speaker on another channel to confirm it's not the gear.HT SYSTEM-

Good call F1...lol probably the reason. Monitor 5's.
I checked the connections, they looked good. When I get home this evening I'll swap tweets and see if thats it. (forgot about doing that).
Thanks for your input guys. -
You don't have to swap tweets, just hook up the speaker to the channel the other good speaker was hooked up to.HT SYSTEM-

That isn't going to help determine if the tweeter is bad or if it is something else in the speaker.Political Correctness'.........defined

Well I swapped the tweeters and the same thing happened with the good one in.
My brother had these for a while and I think he did something to them. When i got them back i had to replace the mid driver in the same cabinet cause it was jacked up.
I don't think it's the x-over since the other tweeter worked, but what do i know...that's why I am asking the experts. Thanks for the help! -
So the other tweeter acted up as well??
Polyswitch?? Fuse?? Not sure what protection your speakers have.. If they have a fuse swap the fuses and see what happens.
Just some ideas...
Good luck.. -
That isn't going to help determine if the tweeter is bad or if it is something else in the speaker.
Correct, but it will take the gear out of the equation. I have always found trying the simplest things first in trouble shooting works best, most the time anyway.
If you did swap tweets and the one in question isn't working in the other speaker, then time to order a new tweet. Did the good tweet work in the speaker the bad one was in ? If so, then I would rule out any crossover issues and order the tweet. If not, pull the crossover and look for anything burnt up.HT SYSTEM-
