I wouldn't worry too much. Charter filed and they are still around (which sucks). Just because one files BK doesn't mean they are done for, all depends on what they are doing/plan on doing/sheding for debt blah blah blah that will affect the outcome.

Brick and mortar rental stores are a thing of the past. I'm sad to say , I kinda miss walking around and finding cool movies to watch. Buying popcorn and candy in line , talking to other people who saw this or that movie , the whole experience is just gone.

Same with buying CD's , it's on it's way out. One day there will only be digital everything. The world is going green.

Gotta disagree Dan, I much prefer the brick and mortar stores, and cd's on top of digital formats. While I get the whole convenience thing, somethings are better left alone. No reason competeing formats can't co-exist or brick and mortar stores exist with netflix. Even today, you have digital,cd's,records, dvd and blu-ray all co-existing. I'll leave the "going green" comment alone.:p:)

My local Best Buy is getting out of the CD biz. They have very few on display and the employees say they are going digital.

I also want to add that I still enjoy going to my local Blockbuster to get my in-store rentals.

I admit I'm one of the reasons for this. We rent movies several times a month and used to hit Blockbusters and Movie Gallery all the time but lately we've being renting them all from Dish Network's on demand. They're $7 as opppsed to $5.50 for DVD rentals but not having to return them or drive to the actual store is easily worth the $1.50 premium.

I have become a streamer. My Panny BD player streams Netflix and we haven't bought or rented a BD since we got it. It's so easy and basically free (I pay $12.99 a month for Netflix). BTW I also cancelled all of my pay movie channels. I bet I'm saving at least $60 a month between that and buying fewer BD disks.
